Cascade: Lesson1: Edit a Webpage Abbas Ahmadi, December 19, 2017

1. Point your web browser to: http://Cascade.ucdavis.edu A logon page appears. 2. Use your UC Davis username and passphrase to logon (Do not use your departmental username and

password). The Cascade Server webpage appears, showing the goats folder under the facilities folder as shown below:

3. The file index is the homepage of the goats website. Double click on the index file. You will see a webpage as shown below:

4. Click on the Edit tab. The editor appears as shown below:

5. Click on the "Main content >> Repeating content block". The first block appears as shown below:

6. Click on the square icon pointed by the red arrow in the above screenshot to make the editor in full screen mode as shown below:

7. You can edit the content using this editor. To insert a picture or a link use the picture icon or the link icon pointed by the red arrows shown in the above screenshot.

8. Once you have modified the contents of this webpage, click on the square icon pointed by the red arrow shown in the above screenshot to exit the full screen mode and return to normal mode of the editor as shown below:

9. Click on the 'Submit' button to save the webpage and exit the edit mode as shown below:

10. Click on the "Publish" button to publish the modified webpage onto the department webserver as shown below:

11. Click the "Submit" button to publish the webpage.

That is it. You have modified an existing webpage. To check the results use a regular browser and browse to the goats website at: http://animalscience.ucdavis.edu/facilities/goats/index.html as shown

Make sure to refresh the web browser (usually Function Key 5) top see the updates; otherwise you will see the old contents.
