Our City Officials allowed the takeover of our public hearing by interjecting a topic such as "Development Agreement" to become part of this hearing which afforded only one side to give input. Dear Carson Residents & Supporters of Stopping the Oil drilling in Carson

WE ARE IN IT TO WIN THE RESPECT AND PROTECTION OF OUR RIGHTS AS RESIDENTSOF CARSON

We are not defeated; we are in it to win it!  We are not angry residents; we areauthentic human beings who care about our communities and our environment.

The fight to stop the drilling in Carson will be a long journey that may go in manydirections.  As we fight to stop the oil drilling and violation of our rights, I hope we willbe able to expose the corruption in our City including but not limited to and "back dooracceptance" of money for favors.

It is clear that many here in Carson have been subjected to the bullying from communityorganizations, certain large business interest groups inside of Carson, the oil industry, supporters, and outside interests.  We find it ironic there is an item on the agenda tostop bullying coming from this leadership establishment in Carson.  We've neverwitnessed such a display of bullying as on April 29, 2014 at the City of Carson's PublicHearing to extend the moratorium.  Our City Officials allowed the takeover of our publichearing by interjecting a topic such as "Development Agreement" to become part of thishearing which afforded only one side to give input.  Where is the fairness and justice?  The current city officials have demonstrated to the world, including those residents whovoted to put them in office exactly who they are.  It's time we show them how strong weare.

This is not a fight of a few, but this is a community fight.  As the old saying goes, "Ittakes a village to raise a child." It takes a group of experts in a community using thecommon sense approach to take our community back from the so-called "Power thatbe mentality of leaders.   "Together we stand, divided we fall."  This is a fight for ourfuture generations and the future for our communities.  We have a beautiful diversecommunity and citizens with many talents and professional skills.   We're asking you tocall 310 885-5860 or email us at [email protected] and join us as weformulate plans, file complaints to the appropriate legal authorities, and process

petitions in order to stand against this insanity within our communities, north, south, east, and west of Carson.   We have tried to use the democratic procedures in order forour elected officials to listen to our concerns.  It seems like they are using our tax dollarsand resources to fight against us.  We do not have the resources to fight what we arefacing.  That is why we need the residents.

We're encouraging our community's best to join us as we move our city forward in theright direction.  If you have any level of professional or self-taught skills in business, government,  law,  violations of U.S. or California Constitutions,  health, theenvironment or any other fields,   your community needs you ASAP.  Your ideas andopinion will be appreciated.  This is A COMMUNITY EFFORT and when we go to the tablewe want your voices included.  Please do not hesitate to call, fax or e-mail us with anyquestions, comments, or suggestions.

We have had enough of this exclusion of taxpayers and the inclusion of special interestsgroups, relatives, and friends at our expense.

Please join us.  When we go to the table demanding that our voices are included, wewant your voices there.

Carson residents weresold out, betrayed and

blindsided by MayorJim Dear

Submitted by David Noflin

At Tuesday's (April 29,2014) public hearing toconsider extending themoratorium, Mayor JimDear blindsided theresidents of Carson byintroducing a weak "facesaving" contractsuggestion.  TheDevelopment ContractAgreement was not on theagenda, and the residentsdid not come out toconsider that suggestion.  Why didn't Mayor Jim Dearpresent this option beforeall five of them voted forthe moratorium on March18, 2014.  From allindications, this wasallowed to be used to block

I know this question is in theminds of others; are Carsonresidents defeated by bigoil?  I don't think so we aregoing to fight this fight untilwe have no options.  TheCarson Chamber ofCommerce is taking bows forChairman Walter Neal takingthe lead in the chargeagainst the residents andclaiming success for thebusiness community.  Theproblem he has is that thebusiness community is notthe only voting community. His behavior pitting thebusiness community againstthe residents shows hisloyalties are not with thebusiness community or the

To my Carson brothers andsisters:

I am a resident of San Pedroand active in a number ofdifferent environmentalorganizations.  First, let mecongratulate you on yourexcellent work to get even atemporary moratorium inCarson.  I was heartbroken tolisten to the live feed onTuesday night and see howthe process was manipulatedto go against the people'swill.  Even with all of that, Iam hopeful that your efforts

the extension of themoratorium.

As one of the residents whohave spent countless hoursfighting this issue, I don'tknow why we even had thishearing.  It was nothing buta charade.  Thanks to Oxy,Watson Land, some of ourunions, the CarsonChamber of Commerce,Mayor Jim Dear, and someof our council members, the fix was already sealed. Judas got 30 pieces ofsilver for betraying andselling out Christ.  Weshould ask Jim Dear andthose council members thisquestion--- How much didyou get to betray and sellout the residents ofCarson?

L. A. Times-May 1, 2014 "The move captured theattention ofenvironmentalists andlabor unions statewide, andeven that of Gov. JerryBrown, who called thecity's mayor to discuss themoratorium at lengthbefore the vote to let themoratorium expire.

L.A, Times-May 1, 2014But City Atty. Bill Wyndercautioned that with theexpiration of themoratorium, the city canno longer take up the issueof oil drilling in a futuretemporary ban."If you're anindividual committed to nonew oil drilling in Carson'sfuture, that is no longer onthe table," Wynder said.

When I last spoke beforeour City Council I said, "Thecitizenry looks to itselected governing body toprotect and do for us whatwe cannot do for ourselvesindividually.  But it does

residents, but with the oilindustry.

We tried to be fair in ourpetition to limit NEW drillingin populated areas.  Goingforward, we are going tostrengthening our position. The oil industry is not givingthe people a fair fightingchance.  We are nowdemanding that there be NODrilling in populated areas.

The oil industry took whatthey could from the land welive on and love.  They soldthe land as prime residentialproperty and now they wantto run over us and drillwhere we live.

I would like to introduce toyou our new petition NODrilling in Populated Areas.

This petition is not limitedto Carson's residents. It isfor all to sign.  This petitionis not intended to replacethe No NEW Drilling inPopulated Areas.  Thispetition NO Drilling inPopulated Areas is inaddition to and for thosewho don't want drilling at allin their communities.

In my next letter, I will talkabout how our electedofficials seem to havewritten off North Carsonbecause they seem to thinkMayor Jim Dear has done amasterful job of dividingand separating us.  Theyseem to think our votes areinsignificant.  Is the WillieLynch method of controlbeing used by Mayor Dearin the appointment of citycommissioners?
