The  widow  of  legendary  concert  pianist  and  actor  Oscar  Levant  introduced  Feinstein  to  Ira  Gershwin  in  July  1977.    He  became  Gershwin’s  assistant  for  six  years,  which  earned  him  access  to  numerous  unpublished  Gershwin  songs,  many  of  which  he  has  since  performed  and  recorded.    Feinstein  serves  as  Artistic  Director  of  the  Palladium  Center  for  the  Performing  Arts

composer.    Born  in  Artemisa,  a  small  town  on  the  outskirts  of  Havana,  Cuba,  he  began  studying  classical  trumpet  at  the  age  of  twelve,  but  soon  caught  the  excitement  of  the  jazz  world.    He  has  been  recording  for  more  than  30  years,  and  his  resumé  includes  more  than  eight  albums  as  jazz  soloist  and  one  as  a  classical  soloist  performing  his  own  Concerto  for  Trumpet  with  the  London  Symphony  Orchestra.    In  2012,  Sandoval  released  Dear  Diz  (Every  Day  I  Think  of  You)  

Sandoval  was  a  founding  member  of  the  group  Irakere,  whose  explosive  mixture  of  classi-­‐cal,  rock  and  traditional  Cuban  music  caused  a  sensation  throughout  the  entertainment  world.    In  1981,  he  left  Irakere  to  form  his  own  band,  which  garnered  enthusiastic  praise  from  critics  and  audiences  alike  and  earned  Sandoval  special  recognition  as  Cuba’s  Best  Instrumentalist.
