Keep safeIt’s important to stay safe while you’re spreading the merriment, so here are our top tips for personal safety:

• Stay in a group – those who carol together stay together!• Take your mobile phone.• Make sure you keep your donations safe. Don’t walk around streets with buckets of money.• Do not go carol singing door to door, you will need to have special permission to do this.

Get the relevant permissionsIf you and your elves decide to go singing in the community or pub to pub, please remember to gain the relevant permissions. You may need to contact your local councils, shopping centres and any other landowner to make sure you have permission to spread some cheer. 1. Print off the bunting template below, remembering to print it in colour and single sided.2. Using scissors, carefully cut around the template. The end result should look like this (below)

Now fold down the middle to make a double sided flag.

3. Glue the two halves together.4. Create two holes with a hole punch along the top edge of the template.5. Slide the flags onto a length of string or ribbon (hint: once you have threaded a flag on, tie a

knot behind each hole to keep the flag in place).

Now hang your bunting for all to see!

Note: When cutting out your bunting, don’t cut through this thick line - it holds each flag together.

The First NoelThe first Noel the angels did say

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;In fields where they lay keeping their sheep

On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

chorus: Noel, NoelNoel, Noel

Born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a starShining in the East, beyond them far,And to the earth it gave great light,

And so it continued, both day and night.

And by the light of that same starThree wise men came from country far,

To seek for a King was their intent,And to follow the star whereever it went.

This star drew nigh to the northwest;O’er Bethlehem it took its rest.

And there it did both stop and stay,Right over the place where Jesus lay.

Then they did know assuredlyWithin that house, the King did lie

One entered in then for to seeAnd found the babe in poverty.

Then entered in those wise men three,Full reverently, upon bended knee,And offered there, in His presence,

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

If we in our time do wellWe shall be free from death and hell

For God hath prepared for us allA resting place in general.

Late in time behold him come,Offspring of the favored one.

Veil’d in flesh, the Godhead see;Hail, th’incarnate Deity:

Pleased, as man, with men to dwell,Jesus, our Emmanuel!

Hark! the herald angels sing,“Glory to the newborn King!”

Hail! the heav’n born Prince of peace!Hail! the Son of Righteousness!Light and life to all he brings,

Risen with healing in his wingsMild he lays his glory by,

Born that man no more may die:Born to raise the sons of earth,Born to give them second birth.

Hark! the herald angels sing,“Glory to the newborn King!”

Jingle bellsDashing through the snowIn a one-horse open sleigh

Over the fields we goLaughing all the wayBells on bobtail ring’Making spirits bright

What fun it is to laugh and singA sleighing song tonight!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,Jingle all the way.

Oh! what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh.

Jingle bells, jingle bells,Jingle all the way;

Oh! what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two agoI thought I’d take a ride

And soon, Miss Fanny BrightWas seated by my side,

The horse was lean and lankMisfortune seemed his lotHe got into a drifted bank

And then we got upsot.

A day or two ago,The story I must tell

I went out on the snow,And on my back I fell;A gent was riding by

In a one-horse open sleigh,He laughed as there I sprawling lie,

But quickly drove away.

Now the ground is whiteGo it while you’re young,

Take the girls tonightand sing this sleighing song;

Just get a bobtailed bayTwo forty as his speed

Hitch him to an open sleigh

Joy to the WorldJoy to the World, the Lord has come!

Let earth receive her King;Let every heart prepare Him room,

And Heaven and nature sing,And Heaven and nature sing,

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!Let men their songs employ;

While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plainsRepeat the sounding joy,Repeat the sounding joy,

Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,Nor thorns infest the ground;

He comes to make His blessings flowFar as the curse is found,Far as the curse is found,

Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,And makes the nations prove

The glories of His righteousness,And wonders of His love,And wonders of His love,

And wonders, wonders, of His love
