Carnival is the happiest festival of the year It seems a party created especially for children, who have always loved dressing up anddressing up in all ways possible! Carnival is the period before Lent and is celebrated with masked balls, parades of floats,dances. It ends the day of Mardi Gras, which precedes Ash Wednesday, first day of Lent. The celebrations during the Carnival season has an origin very far, probably in pagan religious festivals, which made use of masks to ward off evil spirits. With Christianity these rites lost their magical and ritual were just forms of popular entertainment. During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, during the Carnival celebrations were also introduced in the European courts and assumed most refined forms, related to theater, dance and music.
