The 'FORGET ME NOT' alternative funeral - £651 plus cremation and doctors fees A simple, dignified, low cost alternative funeral with no service and no mourners. At a crematorium of our choice. Includes: • Our professional services in making all the

funeral arrangements at one of our offices in normal working hours

• Transfer of the deceased to our private chapel of rest

• Simple care and attention of the deceased until the day of the funeral

• All 3rd party fees including cremation fee and doctors fees

• A dignified fully furnished coffin suitable for cremation

• The collection of ashes from our office

The 'CHERRY BLOSSOM' Funeral- £810 plus cremation fee and doctors fees.

A dignified funeral at a date, time and crematorium of your choice. We will meet you directly at the crematorium on the day of the funeral to support and guide you.

Includes: • Our professional services in making all the funeral

arrangements at one of our offices in normal working hours

• Transfer of the deceased to our private chapel of rest • Simple care and attention of the deceased until the day of

the funeral • Provision of a motor hearse and bearers direct to the

crematorium • Attendance of the funeral director and staff on the day of

the funeral • All 3rd party fees including cremation fee and doctors fees • A dignified fully furnished coffin with four handles and

nameplate suitable for cremation - (A picture of the coffin included is in our shop section under Coffin & Caskets.)

• Notice on our website informing family and friends of the funeral details

• One of our celebrants to lead the service on the day of the funeral

The'LILY' Funeral- £1687 plus cremation fee and doctors fees. A dignified funeral at a date, time and crematorium of your choice. We will arrive with the hearse at a location of your choice and cortege to the crematorium.

How soon can the funeral take place?

Registering the Death

A death should be registered within five days but registration can be delayed for another nine days if the registrar is told that a medical certificate has been issued. This unfortunately is the only thing that we can’t do for you and a funeral cannot take place without the Green Certificate that the Registrar issues. Whilst you are registering you may want to ask the Registrar about the Tell Us Once service. This is a one stop shop for closing down anything that is Government or Local Council run, such as driving license, council tax or state pension. It saves you time and saves you from sending death certificates out.

Some points to consider:

• Funeral Directors are often busier between December and February therefore the waiting

time maybe increased slightly. • Crematoriums and cemeteries have reduced working hours and are busier between Christmas

and New Year.

It is best to allow between 7 to 10 days, however in particular circumstances the funeral can take place within 24 hours of the death. We will, of course, ensure the date of the funeral is convenient for the family.

How will I cope afterwards?

Journey through grief Going through grief is sometimes described as a journey. Like a journey, it is a process and so involves changes over time. But, unlike most journeys, it doesn’t really have a clear end point and even its starting point can sometimes be vague. Each grief journey is unique and affected by many things including: • the circumstances of the death • the relationships of the people involved and • the personality and past experiences of the person who has been bereaved.

The process of grief takes longer for some people than for others. The grief journey may be longer if the death: • occurred without warning • involved a child • was particularly horrifying or • is not certain or has no clear focus e.g. if a person has gone missing. Starting the journey A sudden, unexpected death means that the start of the grief journey is clear. But, when death follows a long illness, the grieving process may begin gradually before the person has died. At the time of a bereavement people often say they feel numb. They may ‘feel in limbo’ during the time between the death and the funeral. Ordinary life is put ‘on hold’ and they feel as if they are just ‘going through the motions’ of life.

Moving on through the journey Most bereaved people go through a number of different emotions but they do not go through them in neat stages. They may move back and forth between a range of feelings. Grief is tiring and can feel like: • being frightened or • involve feelings of shame or guilt or • of irritability or downright anger. Grief is natural and many people go through the grief journey with just the support of family and friends. Others value the support of trained counsellors or listeners.

There are many organisations which can help with grief. These are just a few: Cruse Care for the Family NHS Bereavement UK Child Bereavement Charity Child Death Helpline – there to listen to and support anyone affected by the death of a child. Grief encounter – which supports children who have lost someone they love SANDS – Still Birth & Neonatal Death charity Winston’s Wish – a charity for bereaved children

Some churches have counsellors who specialise in supporting people after a bereavement. Churches can also point people towards other local bereavement services. The journey’s end As time goes on bereaved people find they can speak of the person who died without tears or deep emotion. They notice their interest in hobbies returning and can look outwards to the world and its possibilities. Eventually they can laugh and love and find reasons to live again.
