• Employment Law Compliance Bill makes provision for: – establishment of NERA on statutory footing– standardisation of powers of NERA Inspectors across the range of

‘employment legislation’– maintenance of statutory employment records (payroll; time records)– increased/standardised fines for non-compliance with statutory

employment rights, typically:• €5000/12 months’ imprisonment on summary conviction• €250,000/three years’ imprisonment following conviction on indictment

– statutory Protection for complainants & whistleblowers– an enforcement role for NERA under Employment Permits Acts 2003 &

2006
