Early Years

• At age 8 Carlos Santana began to play the guitar.

• He graduated from Mission High in 1965.• In 1966 Carlos formed the Santana Blues Band

with David Brown and Gregg Rolie. There band soon became known as Santana.

• In 1969 the band played in Woodstock.• Their performance led to a recording contract

• In January 1972 Santana played in Hawaii’s Diamond Head Crater which was recorded as a live album.
