I. The Professional Teacher

1. What are the professional qualities of a teacher? A teacher must possess both the empathy, a positive mental attitude, open-minded, a

great role model, creative, resourceful, calm, passionate, and resilient.

2. In your own personal point of view, what other special professional characteristics of a teacher? A teacher must also be willing to learn and offers the hand of friendship.

3. Based from the answers in item number 2, pick one quality which you appreciate most then justify your answer.

Personally speaking, I always offer my hand of friendship especially to my students. I shake their hands to congratulate them. I do to them what I would do with my friends. I send them a birthday card. I share my pack of candies. I talk to them on their level. I even become a shoulder to them and listen to whatever they want to say.

II. The Role Model Teacher

1. What are your roles and functions as a role model teacher? As a role model teacher, I must not only possess personal qualities mentioned earlier, I

must also be an excellent information provider, a role model, facilitator, examiner, planner, and resource developer.

2. What are some of the policies and guidelines that help you regulate you actions? The most important written document that helps me regulate my actions as a teacher is the

“Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers”.

3. What do you think is your most important role? Why? I think being the facilitator of learning is my important role. I believe that as a teacher I

should not only impart relevant information to my students but to let them learn according to their pace, interests, experience, needs, and wants.
