What is Cervical Cancer?
Cancer that forms in tissues of the cervix
Cervical cancer is almost always caused by human papilloma virus (HPV).
In the USA as of 2009 there are approximately:
11,270 new cases and 4,070 deaths

Held in June, 2001 in Trinidad and Tobago
Representatives from 15 countries attended
Held by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) and Pan American Health Organization
The Problem Cervical cancer was the leading
cancer to kill women in Latin America
Disproportionately affects poorer women
Mortality in Latin America 7X greater than in America
The Solution health information and education

The Plan conduct a situation analysis intensify information education and counseling scale up screening and link to pre-
