HOW TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST To register your interest please go to https://vmch.com.au/services/community-services/carer-and-home-support/ or call the Carer Support Program on 1300 971 720.

Please note registering your interest for an event does not guarantee your attendance. If there are more expressions of interest than places available, the team have the difficult task of allocating places. Newly registered carers and carers who have not attended events previously are usually given first consideration. Your understanding with this is greatly appreciated.

The Carer Support Program may take photographs at various events. If you have concerns about your image being published, please speak with staff on the day.

If you require respite support for the person you care for in order to attend events, please let us know at the time of registering your interest.

CARINYA RESPITE CENTRE BASED RESPITE WITH VMCH

Carinya in Lysterfield offers day and overnight services to people over 65 living with Dementia or short term memory loss. Carinya provides care services 24 hours a day 7 days a week (excluding public holidays) and offers 2 Out and About programs per week as well as a carer support meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Carinya’s flexible and responsive programs give opportunities for your loved ones to socialise, share a meal and engage in activities in a home like environment while giving the carer a much need break.

WHITE ROAD CENTRE BASED RESPITE WITH VMCH

White Road in Wantirna South offers a quality program of activities for adults aged 65+ who are living in the Eastern region. The Centre has a variety of groups that run from Monday to Friday providing activities to meet the needs of those that attend, giving them a chance to interact socially and to stay connected to their community as well as giving their carers a much needed break.

WANTIRNA CARER SUPPORT GROUP

This group is made up of current and former carers of loved ones with various disabilities including stroke, acquired brain injury and dementia. As well as monthly meetings, the group enjoys monthly dinners, bi-monthly lunches and various weekly social activities.

When: First Friday of every month (excluding public holiday)

DEMENTIA CARER SUPPORT GROUP

This group supports carers of people living with dementia. No matter what point in your journey you are at, this group is here to assist you in your caring role and is facilitated by one of our friendly staff members.

CARER SUPPORT GROUPSMany carers find it beneficial to meet with others in a similar situation to themselves. Sometimes it helps to talk about your experiences, while other times it is comfort enough just to enjoy the company of others over a cuppa. Either way, we hope that one of our groups will meet your needs.
