The fourth annual No Place Like Home 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, benefiting CASA of Madison County to help promote awareness for Madison County’s aging and homebound community members. Since 1979, CASA has provided volunteer services to help senior and homebound neighbors stay safe and independent in their own homes. All of the proceeds from this race will be used to support the services of CASA to its clients. NEW for this Year- COSTUME CONTEST – Get together your best The Wizard of Oz costumes for a chance to win some bling! Because Dorothy said it best: “There is no place like home!”

The TEMP$ Weatherization program provides assistance to seniors in preparation for the winter months. Close to 150 homes will need this service, and many volunteer teams are still required to get all the work done.

Volunteers work to lower winter heating bills for our aging neighbors by placing plastic on windows, caulking breaches, and insulating outside pipes. As an added safety measure for the

clients, volunteers also install and test smoke detectors in the homes.

Clays for CASA - Year One!Thank you to our amazing 2016 Clays for CASA top sponsors - CochranMickels Retirement Specialists, Andy Johnson with Edward Jones, and Promoworks made possible by an anonymous donation. We also had a number of additional sponsors who helped make this first year a memorable one! This would also not have been possible without our amazing teams and individuals who came out to compete and have a little fun. Congratulations to our winning teams! First Place: Lioce Team, Second Place: Andy Johnson’s Team with Edward Jones, and Third Place: Remington Team #2. We had a few lucky guests win some amazing prizes from Cabela’s, Larry’s Pistol and Pawn, and UG White. Those in attendance also enjoyed delicious food from Bubba’s Silver Spoon Catering.

Top Gun - Todd T.
