LABORATORY BELT GRINDER

Linisher is a continuous belt grinder. When the sample irregular, its surface needs leveling in

order to render it suitable for mounting. This is achieved on Linisher belt.

The Linisher consist of a continuous emery belt of size 4” width. The Belt travels on two

aluminium pullies, one of which is directly coupled to motor. The other pulley is fitted on a

spindle in a dolley which is spring loaded thus offering quick changing of worn out belts. The

Pencil Hardnerss Testert is suitable to determine the resistance of coating materials to scratch

effect on the surface. Can be used in accordance to ASTM D 3363 and IS 101.

In the test pwncils of various degrees of hardness are moved over the surface under a fixed

pressure and angle to the surface. The degree of hardness of the pencil which damages the

surface is taken as a measurement of scratch hardness.
