Complex Carbs (Starch)Complex starch foods are found in bread, cereals, pasta, rice and many more.

They give the body long lasting energy.

Simple Carbs (Sugar)Simple Sugar foods are found in fizzy drinks and sugary foods such as chocolate.

They give the body an increase of sugar for a short period of time.

carbohydrates provide 2 hours of energy and takes

only 15 minutes to digest.

A snack consisting of simple carbohydrate

s provide 30 minutes of energy

and only 15 minutes to digest.

After 30 minutes her sugar levels will go even lower than she started. 

After 2 hours her sugar levels will go back to a normal sugar level.

If you were running 12 mile and ate just

complex carbohydrates how many complex

snacks would you need to have enough energy if it took you 4 hours?

2 hours = 120 minutes 

120 / 30= 4 

Check by = 30 X 4= 120 minutes

Insulin-

Is produced by the pancreas.

It opens the cell to absorb the sugar.

Then our blood sugar levels can go back down to normal.

If you don’t have insulin?

The cells are closed

Therefore sugar stays in the body.

Causing:

Dizzy

Faint

Too hot

Long term- Fatal.
