United States are big importers of the 3
series make. BMW in the African nation
gained a contract in April of 2011 to
focus mainly on this model. The increase
was by 3000 cars in that make and the 3
series is used in some Asian countries and
parts of Europe.
In 1985 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW
showcased it's M3 model. The M3 was a
sports car that was met with a lot of
enthusiasm by racing individuals and BMW
fans around the world. Fast and furious
lovers would have jumped with joy over the
spoilers and wide wheels. The M3 gained
fame instantly and on the 25th anniversary
since its unveiling, BMW South Africa
released the Frozen M3 model.
This move by BMW SA gave fans a
chance to own a classic. The Frozen M3
given that name due to the colors it
comes in - frozen gray and frozen black,
will be produced twenty five in number.
This make had a price tag of one million,
two hundred thousand South African
rands and the last batch would be
created in 2011.
In the year 1999, BMW South Africa upgraded its SAP R/3 system in order to improve the process from raw materials to the finished automobile. The automaker struggled with ordering of parts which was entered manually. This inefficient method cost millions of dollars because labor was required at each step of the ordering process. Psion Teklogix system was integrated into the firm and increased the plant's production output.
The wireless qualities of Psion Teklogix and the SAP R/3 software allow BMW to manage its stock and transport efficiently BMW South Africa uses the produce as required basis in order to control their inventory and to manage parts, lower labor costs efficiently and car sales. This new system is great for the firm as mismanagement of property and down time are reduced.
