Once we have a fleet of GL cars in our control, they can be used to achieve car pooling.

Car pooling is done by GL cars, it is not left to individuals to find other mates who would share the car. It is highly impractical and as it is explained GL can achieve car pooling/sharing in ways that were not possible for individuals to do so in the past by keeping GL engaged in its duty from start of Hwys/tollway to its end.

Car Pooling ( Introduction )

People working at same or nearly located offices, if they happen to be close friends and also live near to each other, share the car to travel to office, thereby save money over travel.

It is not such an easy coincidence that you would have friends who satisfy above condition and can share the car. This results into more number of cars which carry most of the time just one passenger who is also a driver of the car.

This was all fine in the past. Not any more we have to find ways how we can achieve car pooling amongst the people who use same path as yours but they are not necessarily your friends and they may not even stay close to you and may not work even in places which happen to be close to your working place, still, much of the path you two/thee travel is same.

We design a web site that would gather information about individuals about their daily travel needs in-order to go to work. This is a major part of travel needs for many people, except for week end travel to long distance for leisure reasons which are not that many for majority of people.

By gathering information such as

Name

Address

Destination

Time of travel ( both while going to work and go home after close of day at work ) GL can make out how to club these people so that they can share

GL car efficiently. This will reduce their expenses incurred for work purpose. The more people participate in this concept, more GL would succeed in reducing number of cars on Hwy/Tollways, and faster people can reach their destination.

At present number of cars on Hwys/Motorways during peak hours are so many, it is virtually impossible to cut traffic time delays and every day travel just becomes nightmare for so many people affecting their health and productivity at work place.

Excessive fuel consumption, waste of time, wear and tear of cars and roads due to increased number of cars and pollution are side effects which we just turn blind eye to showing our helplessness, as if there is no solution to this problem.

Usual game of shifting blame to Government is pointless. It does not solve the problem.

Our aim is to solve the problem not point fingers who is responsible.

We all are responsible until we are ready to embrace new ideas and welcome and participate in those ideas.

GL has huge fleet of cars and web gathered intelligence. By analysing this data carefully, GL can certainly contact these participants, how and at what time GL would pick them up from home or at work place to manage both to and fro travels to achieve enormous saving in money and time.

We need awareness and heavy participation to prove this point that savings can be achieved both in fuel and time spent on travel.

In modern days nothing works without spending heavily in advertisement.

But bear in mind this is not a sale of commodity where expenses done on flashy advertisement campaign is ultimately recovered by the vendor by marking up the price above the price the product is worth.

If we follow the same path then we are going to the same mistake.

So we have to do this campaign by increasing public awareness

And telling in advance with facts and figures and sticking to our commitments of sharing benefits of GL sharing honestly to our subscribers.

For God’s sake this is not like a commodity sale. Aim of GL is not making huge profits to keep our share holders happy. In fact GL encourages investment by common people by restricting investment to one unit of GL per person no matter how rich he/she is.

So you can be Investor, subscriber or both at the same time.

Just like you invest in your own living home, you invest in keeping your nation which abides to principles of conserving use of resources of all kinds. By participating you are making a lifelong far reaching statement

That you believe in science, you believe in climate change, global warming and conservation of resources by using them efficiently by sharing its usage as much as possible.

Changes to Hwy/Tollway design needed

In order to succeed car pooling we need to change design of entry and exit points to Hwy/Tollway as roughly shown in the schematic which is a very crude approximation of actual design in real life. I leave that topic to experts who are good in Hwys/tollway design.

These design changes should enable entry and exit at more or less the same point on side of the Hwys/tollways by which traffic flows.

Benefits of universal Entry/Exit points

Such a design change will facilitate GL cars/ Shuttle cars by employers to bring the customers and take them away from such a point.

• This is the kind of universal Entry/Exit point for Hwy/tollway so that

• People leaving Hwy/Tollway can be safely dropped of while exiting and GL car can pickup new passengers while they drop off some passengers

• GL cars can bring in passengers from nearby suburbs at this drop off/pickup point and depending upon wish of inside passengers/waiting pickup passengers can pick a few and enter the Hwy or take dropped of passengers to take them to nearby destinations.

Many possibilities at Entry/Exit points

• Anything is possible and we try to maximise convenience to customers and car sharing. There are signs at exit points and entry points which indicate to GL cars if they have capacity to pickup a passenger, inside passengers do not want to take exit, they only add benefit by adding an extra passenger to share the GL car.

• Likewise Entering GL car depending upon length of queue who are waiting to go to nearby points and those who are waiting to enter the Hwy, GL will decide whether to pickup and join the Hwy or drop of passenger and take away exit passenger.

• Longer queue wins.

• It is all to co-operate and with time GL drivers become expert to take optimum decisions.
