G.M. The G.M. Renaissance Center was opened in 1976 and owned by ford later in 1984 purchased by ANR Ren-Cen, Inc. and finely in 1996 General Motors announced the purchase of the Renaissance Center for use as its global headquarters. The GM Renaissance Center is now home to more than 5,000 GM workers and 4,000 Center tenant employees.

Ford HistoryFord was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford. On

October 1st Ford finished the design for the model T the first good car that came from Detroit. A few years later in 1913 Ford thought that the car production in his plant was slow so he thought of an assembly line. That brought in many jobs for Detroit, that was when Detroit was at its best. The reason that there was so many workers was for the pay of $5 a day for an eight hour work day. The previous pay was $2.34 for a nine hour work day so that can tell you that ford was in the black. In 1941 Ford began to produce all purpose Jeeps for the U.S. Military to use in world war 2. So Ford stopped the production of the Model T’s.
