The IVA-AE (Advanced Edition) is unique in that it is the only CPT designed specifically to detectdeficits in attention, working memory and mental processing speed in adults. Normed for ages 18 - 50 (N=236, divided by gender), it is recommended for use with higher functioning adults in conjunction with the IVA+Plus.

The test is quite challenging. Visual and auditory numbers from 1 to 7 are presented at one-secondintervals; the task is to click when you see a 3 or hear a 5. The clinician can opt to use the short version (10 minutes) or the extended version (20 minutes). The IVA-AE is especially important forhigher level adult clients, since teacher and parent rating scales are not available for this population.The test can detect problems in adults who may be capable of performing well on a single modalitytest or who can sustain their attention just long enough to succeed on the IVA+Plus.
