Greetings From Your Chapter Directors
Tom & Colleen FitzGerald
GWRRA NC-A “Piedmont Goldwings”
Happy New Years to all our Chapter A members. It’s hard to be-lieve January is already upon us. We hope everyone had a great Christmas. As many of you know, Colleen and I had to cancel our trip to Maine for Christmas due to the unfortunate accident her sister, Jackie, was
in back on December 15, 2018. Jackie is still in the hospital as I write this article but we hope she’ll be re-leased this Friday, January 4, 2019. She will be continuing her rehabilitation in Kernersville at our home. Thanks to everyone for your prayers. We have scheduled a staff meeting for next Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9:00 AM at our home in Kernersville. We’ll be discussing our plans for this year and doing some budgeting. We plan on having a general Chapter planning session in early February. This is after the District Operations Meeting scheduled for the 26th of this month in Greensboro. Just a reminder to the Chapter officers that have said they’re coming that the meeting will be held at the Wyndham Garden Greensboro, 415 S. Swing Road, Greensbo-ro, NC 27409 and starts at 9AM. Attending representing Chapter A: CD – Tom & Colleen FitzGerald MEP – Alice & Ron Myers Treasurer – Helen & David Wilson Chapter Couple – Carl & Nancy Allen Ride Coordinator – Paula Hines We look forward to seeing everyone at our Chapter gathering on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Captain Bills. We plan on riding more this year as my wrist is much better and I’m itching to ride more. Tom & Colleen FitzGerald NC-A Chapter Directors

It’s 2019! And most of us will write 2018 on our checks and correspondence until at least April or May unless our computers auto correct.
Unfortunately, life (and rain) interfered with plans for our New Year’s Polar Bear ride, hope the ride to the Souper Bowl, aka NC S2 Sanford’s Resolution Ride on January 1, but 4 wheels can still get us together for fel-lowship and fun. Mark, Jeff and I took the Bike Safe NC class on November 30th. Mark gave a presentation on the class at our December gathering and told us how much he felt he had learned and how much he enjoyed it. Tom FitzGerald has also taken the class, and we all feel it is very worthwhile. I have taken it 3 times now (it is FREE) and each subsequent class has updated information and improved videos from the original class that Tom had taken. I will be taking it again, helps keep me sharper and more aware. Our IRP group and a few others went to Southern Supreme in Bear Creek on December 18th, post-poned from December 15 due to weather issues. We had a really nice ride, enjoyed our visit to Southern Su-preme, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and bought enough fruitcake and goodies that I needed Ken Worland to carry some home for me. We had Mark, Ken, Greg and Kathie, Jeff Roth, friends Jim Bradt and Joe Yuan Chu, and me. Joe was riding his newly purchased 2005 GoldWing, which came equipped with a lot of bling! He now has several Wing World magazines to peruse, as well. BTW, he has a very nice set of floor-boards and heel-toe shifter he wants to go to another home, if anyone is interested. Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and Holiday Season. Prayers for Colleen and her sister, and swift recovery for her sister after her accident. Wishing us all a Blessed, Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year, and lots of good riding! Watch for impromptu ride notifications - and see you at our gathering! Ride safe, ride often. Paula, Ride Coordinator

2018 was a busy and exciting year. Chasing the Plaque, visiting
with friends at all the chapters and making new friends.
Many thanks to everyone for their companionship, to all our members who visited
the other chapters, help collect the visitation cards, and either traveled with us or met us at the chapter gatherings. This experience has helped us be more open and talk with others. WE DID IT!! Kind of down to the wire but we were able to pick up the last Chap-
ter Visitation Card in November. Lots of fun, Good food, Good conversation, Good mem-
ories.
The 2018 Couple of the Year plaque stopped moving the end of November! We
were the last ones to capture it and turned it in to Libby Jennings for the District Oper-
ations Meeting on January 26, 2019.
We are looking forward to another year of visits and “chasing the plaque.” Hope to
see you out there.
Ride Safe and have FUN!
