Why do I need a custodian to hold the gold in my IRA?

As with any IRA, the IRS requires that a custodian hold and track the assets in the IRA.

Self-Directed IRA Services will be your new Precious Metals IRA custodian, and their storage depositary is Delaware Depository services Company.

• Your initial fees may be paid by check made payable to Self Directed IRA Services, deducted while your transferred funds are still liquid before your metals purchase is made, or paid by credit or debit card.

• However, the renewable annual fees of $175 (Renewable Administrative Fee and Insured Metals Storage Fee) will be billed to you annually in the anniversary month of when your account was established.

• (If you opened your account in June, the invoice for your renewal fees will come in June). You may elect to leave additional funds in a cash position in your IRA account to pay future fees if you wish.

Where are my Precious Metals stored ?Self-Directed IRA Services, your new Precious Metals IRA Custodian, has chosen the Delaware Depository Service Company (DUSC), a high security vaulting service located in Wilmington, Delaware, to provide storage service for its clients.

What types of precious metals can I put in my IRA?
