Peace of Mind Founded in 1982, WBS Group holds over 3 decades of experience in steel design and manufacturing. WBS Group is a West Australian wholly owned company built on a foundation of fundamental core values to deliver optimum customer experience, value with quality through excellence and execution.

Our high-quality steel building structures at government and private enterprise level are proven testament to the experience of the vibrant ethical team – our ultimate asset. WBS Group has invested significantly in professional skills by expanding their management team with key personnel of commercial building construction experience.

Formerly Wheatbelt Steel, the company rebranded to reflect its growing expertise in a variety of fields. WBS Group has achieved strong growth and has become an integral supplier to the Agriculture, Industrial and Mining markets. Our main custom built manufacturing facility and head offices, is located just 100km’s East of Perth in the heart of the Avon region, Northam.

WBS Group employ over 50 staff in all different areas of job role requirements. The manufacturing division has a floor space of 4160sqm and a 20 tonne/day capacity for steel fabrication. Our equipment covers 8 welding stations and large scale purpose spray painting booth. In-house shot blasting of every steel component makes flawless surface preparation for the high grade surface treatment options we offer our clients.

Our unique process involves the advanced technology of a modern FICEP (Italy) CNC Beamline machine which performs all cutting and drilling functions with required accuracy. Its presence adds immense ability to our steel beam manufacturing capabilities. Not only does this time and labour saving enable faster manufacture, but the unprecedented levels of precision enable swifter, problemfree fabrication.

WBS Group takes care of it’s own logistics with a modern fleet of trucks to service both local and state-wide deliveries.

Project PortfolioALCOA AUSTRALIARESOURCES PROJECTOVER $3.2M Alcoa operates the world’s largest integrated bauxitemining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and rolling system. WBS Group recently supplied the company with ten commercial buildings for the Myara project, sited within Aloca’s Huntly mining operations. This included heavy vehicle undercover refuelling bays, an undercover muster area, workshops for fixed plant maintenance teams, with gantry cranes installed by Kone Cranes. Other sheds serve as a motorcycle undercover parking area, a turnstile shelter and a staff sign-in building. WBS Group also constructed a huge 1.2km of covered walkways around the Myara site.

KARARA MININGRESOURCES PROJECTOVER $1.7MKarara, located 200km east of Geraldton, is the first major magnetite operation in the Mid-West includes construction and operation of a large open pit mine, a processing plant to produce magnetite concentrate and all associated infrastructure. WBS Group supplied the project with several sheds for different requirements ranging from wash down bays to mechanical workshops and laboratory buildings. The remote location of the site offered challenges in relation to schedule constraints but were effectively managed and the project was delivered as per provided scope of works.

Project PortfolioHVLVINDUSTRIAL PROJECTOVER $4.5MHVLV are transportable switch room builders to the mining, oil and gas, industrial and public utilities sectors. WBS Group has a long standing relationship with HVLV having completed several major construction projects for them including a new 4800sqm factory in Hazelmere, Western Australia, which also required 3 x 15 tonne overhead gantry cranes in the building. WBS Group has also completed a significant extension to HVLV’s existing premises to allow the company to continue to grow in accordance with its expansion plans to service its markets.

G&G MINING FABRICATIONINDUSTRIAL PROJECTOVER $2.5MG&G Mining Fabrication Pty Ltd is a family owned business that has been designing, manufacturing and refurbishing products of the highest quality for the mining industry since 2002. They employed WBS Group to design and construct their 3000sqm factory in Hazelmere, Western Australia. The design needed to be engineered to accommodate the clients requirement of 2 x 32 tonne gantry cranes to deliver a massive combined 60 tonne of lift capacity. The building was erected during hottest part of the year which was a significant challenge for the onsite team managing heat fatigue and the
