Canvas® Friends & Family service takes mobility and ™

loca�on awareness to a new level by enabling mobile

subscribers to receive loca�on informa�on about selected

individuals with their consent. Canvas Friends & Family

enables a mobile workforce to be more effec�ve, friends

and family members to locate each other in crowded or

unfamiliar venues, and users to be alerted when close

friends are in the vicinity. It improves user experience in the

network and creates new revenue sources from consumers

and enterprises for the CSPs, without compromising user

privacy or network security.

networking applica�on, it allows users to locate and

communicate with their colleagues, friends and family

members who use the same mobile network.

BenefitsAdvanced List Management enables subscribers to create and manage people lists, allowing them to add, delete or

modify entries with ease. Users can maintain and manage mul�ple people lists, for instance one for work, another for

family members, yet another for a book club. Strict User Privacy Control ensures user privacy by giving them the confidence that their loca�on informa�on will be

disclosed only to individuals to whom they have consented. The privacy management func�on enables service

providers to give full control into the hands of the subscribers, without crea�ng privacy concerns. Canvas Friends &

Family also offers black list feature for addi�onal user privacy.

User Friendly Service Personaliza�on An intui�ve point-and-click subscriber portal allows users to manage their

people lists and privacy se�ngs. Even within each people list, users control who can receive their loca�on informa�on

and who cannot. Users can also SMS and WAP to modify their profiles and friend lists. These user-friendly interfaces

increase the u�lity and the penetra�on of the F&F service.

Price/Performance combina�on enables wireless CSPs to start with a small system, reducing opera�onal costs, and

grow to a larger capacity.

GSM/GPRS, 3G, 4G, 5G is provided in the same system enabling wireless CSPs to achieve more economical

deployments by offering an extremely small footprint that significantly reduces total cost of ownership.

Product OverviewCanvas® Friends & Family has telco grade loca�on capturing capabili�es on CSP network. Loca�on interfaces with ™

mobile network GMLC (Gateway Mobile Loca�on Center - GSM networks), MPC (Mobile Posi�oning Center -

CDMA/TDMA/3G/4G networks) network elements to obtain the users’ x and y coordinates. The service can also

obtain Loca�on informa�on using cell-id details from CSP’s HLR/HSSHSS, where GMLC/MPC is not available. Canvas

Friends & Family then processes this informa�on to provide the requested services to the users in real-�me. It can

overlap graphical map informa�on, street names and points of interest for an easy-to-read user interface.

Canvas® Friends & Family also provides the necessary subscriber management system, Web and messaging ™

interfaces – USSD, SMS, WAP, Smartphone - to allow users to define friend lists, to control their anonymity and privacy

se�ngs.
