Green Team ReportGreen Team Report

The Green Team have been hard at work taking care of theschool garden beds. So far we have harvested kale, rocket andcarrots!

SRC PJ DaySRC PJ Day

On Thursday September 12th, CSPS celebrated NationalPyjama Day to raise funds for the Pyjama Foundation’s Love ofLearning program which is offered to children in foster care.

The Pyjama Foundation's mission it to ensure as many fosterkids as possible, receive that one-on-one learning support thatthey don't often receive in a school-based setting.

Canterbury South Public School raised $637 through acombination of online and gold coin donations. Thank you toour SRC and community for supporting this initiative!

Judo Junior School CupJudo Junior School Cup

On the 15th September Jordan and Nate M representedCanterbury South Public School in Judo NSW's Junior SchoolsCup and won gold.

Judo is a sport where individuals compete against each otherto score 'Ippon' which is awarded for a controlled throw or forpinning an opponent down for 20 seconds. Judo has manypractical uses and teaches using opponents momentum toyour benefit.

Overall we would like to congratulate Jordan and Nate on theirachievement. Well done!

On Wednesday students from Canterbury South PS attendedthe Public Speaking Competition at Campsie Public School.

Congratulations to Hugo S-N who came 2nd in the Stage 1 finaland well done to all the students who competed.

Congratulations to all students who competed in the ZoneAthletics Carnival.

Even though Day 2 was postponed twice due to wet weather,a great 2 days was had by all.

A special mention and congratulations to Dainen Welsh whowas Zone Age Champion. He will go on to compete at theRegional Athletics Carnival for the 800 and 1500m races.

Student LeadersStudent Leaders

The Art Show was on last week in Block A. The artworks lookedamazing, and everyone enjoyed looking at the artworks.

Yesterday was the High School transition Forum. Students andteachers from Canterbury Boys and Canterbury Girls came totalk about what high school is like. People learnt a lot aboutwhat to expect in high school.

Also, yesterday was Day 2 of the Zone Athletics Carnival.Everyone tried their best and did an amazing job.

This term, a few Stage 3 students have entered a competitionwhere they have to make a newspaper. The winner gets 6iPads and a tour of the Sydney Morning Herald news room. Wewill find out the winners in October. There are copies in everyclassroom as well as the library. If you wish to purchase onethey are on sale for 50c.

Tomorrow is K-2’s Rewards Day and on Friday is 3-6’s. Speakwith your teacher about bringing in games and other activities.

We had another incredible term with awesome activities suchas the Colour Run, the Health Hustle and the Athletics Carnival.We hope everyone has a safe and great holiday – we can’t waitto see you in term 4.
