Term 3 for students and staff started on Monday this week. Thank you to all parents for keeping your children at home on the last day of term while staff began the first of a series of professional development on Visible Learning. The next SDD/ Pupil Free Day will be at the end of this term, on Friday 25th September. Once again reminders and posters will go home to remind everyone closer to the date. Students were straight back into lessons on Monday as term 3 began, hopefully it will be a great term of learning with little disruptions. Education Week is in Week 3. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions we will not be having our annual Open Day and Colour Fun Run, however, we will be putting together a video of all our busy classrooms to share with our parents/ carers via Facebook and on our website. The Children’s Book Council Awards and Book Week has been postponed until Term 4, hopefully, we’ll be able to have our annual scholastic bookfair then along with the Canowindra Community Reading Day. Year 6 Peer Support Camp will be held next Friday 31st July at Moorbel Hall. Permission notes will be going home this week to all students. This is always a great camp with students learning lots of leadership and social skills. Peer Support will commence with the whole school in Week 3. This involves students from Kindergarten to Year 6 being grouped together in small groups and participating a range of activities each week. Thank you to all the parents, teachers and students for participating in 3 Way Interviews last term. We were able to meet with 87% of our parents which was fantastic, and the general consensus was that the interviews were very positive and worthwhile. School reports will be going home at the end of this week and as discussed at the meetings, they are a summary of the semester encompassing student goals and progress in literacy and numeracy as we have been able to modify the reports due to COVID-19. Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability

Notification for Parents and Carers All Government and non-Government schools across Australia are required to participate annually in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).

All Australian schools will collect data on their students who are receiving adjustments to meet additional learning and support needs in accordance with their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education 2005. This data will be provided to the Australian Government to assist in the development of a consistent, national picture of the education needs of students with disability.

The data provided to the Australian Government by the NSW Department of Education is provided in such a way that it cannot be used to identify any individual student or school.

General information about the national data collection can be found on the Australian Government Department of Education and Training website at https://www.education.gov.au/what-nationally-consistent-collection-data-school-students-disability

Under Clause 52 of the Commonwealth Australian Education Regulation 2013, data collected by the NSW Department of Education for the NCCD must be provided to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. This includes the number of students at each level of education, the number in each category of disability and the number at each level of adjustment. The information is provided to the Commonwealth as a series of number sets that cannot be used to identify any individual student or school.

The Australian Government Department of Education and Training follows the requirements of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 when handling any data provided by NSW Department of Education in connection with the national data collection. A public information notice has been developed to by the Australian Government to provide students, parents and carers with important privacy information in relation to the data collection.
