PSSA Boys Soccer On the 2nd of May Canowindra Public School boys Soccer team went off to play PSSA Soccer at Henry Lawson Oval in Grenfell against Grenfell Public. We left school at 11.20am and kicked off at 12.50pm.We ar-rivedat Grenfell at 12.10pm. We had 40 minutes to get warmed up. At 12.50pm we ran on. We didn’t get off to the best start will Grenfell leading by 1 goal in the first half. After the half time whistle went our coach Miss Dixon had a talk to us and we were ready for the 2nd half. About 5 minutes in Connor Munroe scored to make the score 1-1.In another 5 minutes Jordey Smith (me) scored to make it 2-1

about 2 minutes later they scored to make it 2-2. Our team doesn’t back out of a fight so Con-nor Munroe scored an amazing goal to make it 3-2 then 5 minutes later Dusty Smith made it 4-2 and we won! The next game is in Week 5 Tuesday 24th in Canowindra.

By Jordan Smith

Earlier this term in Week 2, the Canowindra School Soccer Team went to play in Grenfell at Henry Lawson Park. All of us were excited to play our first proper game as a team. We arrived at rough-ly 11.30am. We then got ourselves ready and warmed up.At 12.50pm we ran onto the field all excited. We did underestimate the other team in the firat half, the score showed it as well, 1-0.Our coach (Miss Dixon) had a talk to us at half time and we went back on better in the second half. It was a tough game but we won in the end, 4-2.Grenfell had a very fast team and were very accurate with their passes, so they were tough but we pulled through thanks to, Connor Munroe scoring the 1st and 3rd goal. Jordey Smith who scored our second goal and Dusty Smith who scored our last goal. Our next game is being played at Canowindra Oval, Tuesday Week 5!

By Jordan Lorford-Reid

In this half we started off with a goal from Connor Munroe, and minutes later took the lead with Jordan Smith smashing it in as we got really pumped up. Soon after Grenfell got a goal back and we played even harder. We got another goakl by Connor Munroe to get his double and Dustan Smith put the nail in the coffin when he scored to make it 4-2.It ended like that, and we went through to the next round, which will be against Orange East Public School at the Canowindra Oval in Week 5 on Tuesday the 24th May.By Harrison Warn

Class in Focus: Year 2

Year 2 students were busy making their Mother’s Day gift last week. They painted the background of their canvas, posed for a photo, glued it on the canvas then glued on the love hearts. They did a fan-tastic job and were very proud of their efforts. I hope all the mum’s

had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
