Canon Printhead Cleaning
The how-to for cleaning clogged Canon Printheads
This works for Canon printers that don’t have a printhead on the cartridge itself.
This should be used as a last resort
If you are 100% sure the problem is not with the cartridges; this might work.
Ready?
Remove the cartridges like normally
Open the locking mechanism (grey lid)
Lift out the printhead
You should be able to remove the printhead without any resistance. If you do feel some resistance, make sure the lock has been pushed up enough.
This is your printhead
Now it’s time to clean
Now it’s time to clean
Submerge the bottom of the printhead in a little bit of warm water.
(Only the bottom plate should be under water)
It should look something like this
Leave this overnight

After it’s completetly dry; reinstall the
printhead
Don’t use heat (like a hairdryer) to dry.
Run a cleaning program via the printer software
Make sure to run a cleaning process in the Canon printer software to get the ink
flowing again.
