  • Preparations BeforeDial 35-2 - Loading

    Shooting with Canon Canonthe Mercury Battery cltAl-3s-a

    Load the mercury bat tery , conta ined in a separateenvelope, in to the bat tery compar tment o f the cam'era. S ince the mercury bat tery powers the CdSmeter , the meter wi l l not funct ion un less the bat -tery is loaded.

    . Wipe the mercury bat tery c lean of persp i ra-t ion and f ingerpr in ts wi th a dry c lo th . Themercury bat tery may corrode i f th is precau-t ion is neglected.

    r The serv ice l i fe o f the mercury bat tery is ap-prox imate ly one year . The meter needle wi l lno longer funct ion when the mercury bat teryis used up. In th is case, rep lace the mercurybattery.

    r The CdS meter wi l l fa i l to funct ion proper lyi f t he ( * ) and ( - ) po in t o f t he mercu ry ba t -tery is inser ted incorrect ly .

    r Remove the mercury bat tery f rom the com.par tment when the camera is not to be usedfor a long per iod o f t ime and keep both thebat tery and camera in a dry p lace. a

    r Th is means that the leader par t o f the f i lmhas advanced and t he f i lm i s au toma t i ca l l yset for the f i rs t exposure.

    Keep wind ing the gr ip , even af ter the exposure counter ind icates " O " , unt i l the spr ingmo to r i s f u l l y wound . When fu l l y wound , t hegr ip wi l l s tar t to race.. Over 20 cont inuous exposures are poss ib le

    wi th a fu l ly wound spr ing motor . When youwish to cont inue shoot ing some more, fu l lyw ind up t he sp r i ng mo to r aga in .l f t he sp r i ng mo to r i s no t wound , t he f i lm w i l lnot advance and the shut ter re tease wi l l notf u nct ion.The exposure counter d ia l is ind icated by af igure for every f i f th exposure.

    posure ind icat ing window, i t means that i t isposs ib le to shoot wi th EE exposure. So, com-pose your p ic ture and press the shut ter but -t on .

    B. When the meter needle is ins ide one of thewarn ing marks on bo th s i des , i t means t ha tthe shut ter speed is e i ther too fast or toos low for that sub ject under that cer ta in l ight -
