How does Tetley ensure that the stated vitamin delivery is achieved given that tea is made with boiling water?Tetley has conducted extensive research and 3rd party laboratory validation to ensure that the tea will provide the vitamin and mineral delivery stated on the package. The level of vitamins added at the time of production is higher than stated on pack to allow for production variability and shelf life. However this overdosing is within all regulatory requirements and presents no health issue. The teas have a 2 year shelf life which is printed on the package.

How much caffeine do Super Teas contain?Our three Super Herbal teas are naturally caffeine free, while our Super Green teas contain approximately 34 mg of caffeine per 6 oz cup, which is 1/3 to 1/2 that of a comparable cup of coffee.

Doesn’t the caffeine in tea cause dehydration?There is a view in the popular press that caffeinated drinks have an adverse effect on hydration. However studies on caffeine drinks at caffeine intakes of 114 mg-420mg/day (3- 12 cups of tea) have found no significant impact on hydration. References: 1. Ruxton CHS( 2008). Nutr Bull 33, 15-25 2. How was Tetley allowed to market teas with vitamin and minerals?Tetley worked closely with Health Canada to gain approval to market teas fortified with vitamins and minerals. These teas are regulated as supplemented food products and are subject to pre-market review and approval for safety by Health Canada. As part of Health Canada’s assessment, they have set pre-determined levels of vitamins and minerals that can be used in a supplemented food product to ensure that consumer safety is maintained. The limit for each ingredient is based on specific calculations that take into consideration the Safe Daily Amount of each nutrient (as determined by the Institute of Medicine), the dietary intake of these ingredients from other foods in the diet and a safety factor based on the estimated use of Multi-vitamin and mineral supplements that are used by the Canadian sub-population. This pre-approval process for these products means that when these products are taken in accordance with usage directions they are safe.

Is there a maximum limit on daily consumption of Tetley Super TeasThere is no upper limit for our Tetley Super Tea Boost, Tetley Super Tea Antiox or Tetley Super Tea Matcha.

Why is there a warning label on Tetley Super Tea Immune?As outlined above, Health Canada has created pre-defined limits of vitamins and minerals that can be added to foods to ensure consumer safety. In

doing so, they created 2 pathways for these supplemented foods i) general subpopulation (4 years +) and this takes into consideration that amount of nutrients that may be obtained from consuming supplements in the diet. However certain vitamins or minerals like zinc (in Tetley Super Tea Immune) are considered Path 2 ingredients (for adults 14+) do not take into consideration the amount of nutrients that can be obtained from supplementation. Therefore these foods are required to carry additional cautionary labelling.

What does the usage label say on Tetley Super Tea ImmuneFor adults only. Do not exceed 2 servings per day. Do not consume this product with other supplemental foods. If you take a daily supplement, you may be getting too many vitamins or minerals by consuming this product.

Are there any potential negative drug interactions between Tetley Super Teas and prescription medicines?Tetley Super Teas contain well-known vitamins and minerals that have been added to foods and consumed by people for many years. However as a precaution, consumers should always talk to their doctor or pharmacist about the drugs they take and any possible negative interactions with vitamins, herbs or foods
