Can You Draw It? Working with Shapes
Accessing the Drawing Tools Once a shape is selected in a document, the Format Tab becomes available and there are a number of drawing tools available.
Resize and Rotate Shapes
Click on the Insert tab.

Select Shapes.
Select the Rectangle.

Drag a rectangle out in cells B3 - B5.
Select the Insert tab.

Select the Down Arrow.

Drag out an Arrow (in cells C6-C7).
Select the Insert tab.
Select Shapes.

Select Oval.
Drag an Oval out in cells D8 - D10.

Rotate Shapes
Select the Arrow.
In the Arrange group...

Select Rotate.
Select More Rotation Options.

The Format Shape dialog box opens.
In the Size and Rotate section...
Change the Rotation to -450.

Place a minus (-) sign in front of 45º.
Click Close.
Move the point of the arrow to the lower right corner of cell C7.

Change Shape Attributes
Right-click on the Square shape.
Select Format Shape.

In the Fill section...
Change the Transparency to 75%.
Click Close.
Click on the Oval shape.

Edit the Shape Fill.
Select Shape Fill.
Select More Fill Colors
The Colors dialog box opens.
Change the Transparency to 75%.
Click OK.

Click on the Arrow shape.
Apply a Shape Styles.

Select Intense Effect - Blue, Accent 1.
Change Line Attributes
Edit the Rectangle line color.
Select Shape Outline.

Select Black, Text 1, Lighter 50%.
Select Shape Outline to adjust the Weight.
Select 1½ pt.

Now change the Oval line color.
Select Shape Outline.
Select Black, Text 1, Lighter 50%.

Adjust the shape Weight.
Select Shape Outline.
Select 1½ pt.
Object Effects
Click on the Arrow shape.
Select Shape Effects.

Select Blue, 5 pt glow, Accent color 1.
Add Text to Shapes
Right-click the Square shape.

Select Edit Text.
Key in the following text: Increased Sales.

Right-click and edit the text.
Use the Quick Launch toolbar.

Click Bold.
Click Center.
Change the font style to Arial.
Increase Font Size to 14.
Change the Font Color to Black.
Right-click on the Oval shape in order to Edit Text.

Key in the following text: Larger Market Share.
Use the Quick Launch toolbar to edit the text.
Click Bold.
Click Center.
Adjust the Font Style to Arial.
Adjust the Font Size to 9.
Change the Font Color to Black.

Change the Oval’s Shape Fill.
Select Shape Fill.
Hover your mouse over Texture.
Select White marble.

Print Preview the worksheet.
