1.) Each player rolls a die. The player with the highest number goes first.

2.) Player 1 takes 10 cubes that are all the same color. Player 2 takes 10 cubes that are all the same color but a different color than Player I.

s.) Player 1 rolls two dice, finds the sum (total of the 2 dice) and places a cube on the circle with that sum.

4.) Player 2 does the same thing.

5.) If the other player has a cube on that sum, you BUMP it off If your cube is on that sum, you link them together and then it freezes that spot. ( Once your spot is frozen, you cannot be BUMPed off of it.)

6.) Once a spot is frozen with 2 cubes, if you get that sum when you roll, your turn is over, whether it is your cubes or the other player's.

7.) If you roll doubles, you get another turn.

8.) The winner is the player that uses all of his cubes first.

Have fun!!

Mystery Numerals

Materials: Number lines from 1-10 or 0-20 Markers to cover eliminated number (beans, chips, etc.)

Goal: For the students to guess the "mystery number" in as few tries as possible.

1. The parent decides on a "mystery number" from the number line.

2. The child takes a turns guessing the number and the parent responds with a clue. Clues are either "fewer" or "greater."

3. Once a clue is given, the players can place different markers on numbers that are too large or too small.

4. As more clues are given, more numbers can be covered until the "mystery number" is revealed.

5. Reverse the parent and child roles.
