largest known frog is about a foot long.• There are over 4,000 frog species in the world, with only

88 of them in the United States.• The earliest known frog appeared during the late Jurassic

period, about 190 million years ago! Scientists believe that the oldest frogs developed jumping legs to avoid being eaten by dinosaurs.

• If a tornado or other extreme weather goes over a place populated with frogs, it can pick them up and drop them off somewhere else when the weather stops. This usually happens at the same time as rain.

But they can fall from the sky with rain.

It doesn’t just happen with frogs, though.

• It has poured jellyfish before.

• Also maggots, but they were frozen.

• Fish have fallen on towns a lot more than frogs have.
