Can ComputerizedTools Evaluate for ADHD?A computerized evaluation tool forADHD was recently released in theUnited Kingdom and has FDA approvalin the United States. But is an onlineassessment tool a good option forfamilies seeking an evaluation for achild or an adult? “There are several devices that arecommercially available,” says CHADDProfessional Advisory Board MemberMary Solanto, PhD. These devices, shesays, can give incorrect results. “But,there are no shortcuts in doing aproper evaluation.” Having an online tool may seem like it would be helpful, but in the long run it maynot provide the information necessary for a diagnosis and proper treatment.
