5. To ensure that Technologists be qualified for the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic.

IS THE PROGRAM ACCREDITED?Yes. The program is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).

IS THERE A CERTIFICATION?Yes, after successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center. In addition, a professional registration will be provided from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as a Neurophysiology Technician. Participants will also be eligible to sit for an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists Examination (ABRET).

WHAT AM I GOING TO STUDY?The curriculum is delivered over two and half years. The participant’s educational skills are developed through lectures, class room interaction, followed by a clinical/practical experience of cardiovascular procedures.

HOW AM I GOING TO BE ASSESSED?You will be assessed through assignments, self–assessment exercises, skill demonstration, projects, quizzes, comprehensive exams, and faculty reviews.

WHAT ARE MY BENEFITS?If you are accepted and sponsored by KFSHRC, you will receive a stipend (monthly allowance) and medical coverage at the Hospital during the training period (participants only).

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES?Joining the work force in the hospital at the end of the training program is subject to the approval of the hospital in accordance to the following conditions:• Pass the training program successfully.• Pass the selection process by the targeted department.• The number of available jobs at the time.• Approval of the hospital ’s management.

WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION CONDITIONS?You have to:• Be a Saudi Citizen• Hold a bachelor degree in any of the science fields,

post high school degree• Achieve the required English Language Placement

Test• Pass the formal panel interview• Pass the medical check up

WHAT IS NEUROPHYSIOLOGY TECHNOLOGY OCCUPATION?The Neurophysiology Laboratory (NPL) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) provide high quality patient care by the use sensitive electronic diagnostic equipment to record and evaluate the electrical activity of patients› central and peripheral nervous systems to assist physicians in diagnosing diseases, injuries and abnormalities. Working as a Technician in neurophysiology Lab, you will assist with the diagnosis of neurological disorders including epilepsy and other neurological diseases.

WHAT IS NEUROPHYSIOLOGY TECHNOLOGY TRAINING PROGRAM?It is an accredited program by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and it conducted over two years and a half. The program is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theory is mostly conducted in the class rooms. You will learn about the function and disorders of the nervous system, as well as the principles and practical applications of neurodiagnostic tests. Then, the practical part of the program is conducted in the clinical areas where you will practice your skills.

WHY CONDUT THIS PROGRAM?To prepare highly skilled and qualified Saudi Neurophysiology Technicians, who are able to work in any Neurophysiology Laboratory Kingdom Wide.

WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM’S OBJECTIVES?

1. To fulfill the need for trained Neurophysiology Technologists in the Country.

2. The Neurophysiology Technology Program will provide academic and clinical educational opportunities for participants.

3. Participants will learn about the function and disorders of the nervous system.

4. Participants will develop the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes necessary to become competent technologists.
