Motivation for our Research Activities

The volume and size of managed funds have skyrocketed over the last two decades. New investment instruments and burgeoning sovereign wealth and pension funds have increased investment opportunities and liquidity, thus driving growth. This has led to heightened investor activism with an increasing need for good managers and sound corporate governance.

These factors emphasise the importance of the investment, regulatory, governance, and managerial aspects of fund management, whichhavesignificantimpactonfinancialmarkets. They also highlight the knowledge gap between theory and practice with respect to the management, regulation and optimal performance of these funds. CAMRI believes this gap canbefilledbyconductingindustry-relevantappliedresearchandbysharingitsfindingstobenefitallstakeholders.
