AREA
493 hectares; encompasses seven barangays(Barangay UP Campus, Krus na Ligas, San Vicente, Old Capitolsite, Botocan, Culiat, Pansol)
PEOPLE not less than 120,000 people at any given time.Many of the household residents are informal settlers and
they outnumber the faculty, students nd adm staff/REPSpersonnel.
GATES UPD has 5 gates (Univ ave, Magsaysay, Ylanan,Velasquez and Jacinto. The shuster gate is also open duringrush hours.
OTHERS
students and UP personnel have no uniforms; UPcampus not enclosed by a fence; UP campus is open to thepublic at all times.

01. The security forces are under faculty supervision. 02. Operating units are under UPDP supervision.
03. SGs on day shift are not authorized to carry firearms.
04. SGs are recruited by their agencies but they are subject todisciplinary action by UPD authorities
05. Security forces have defined areas of responsibilities. Ifwarranted, however, they may be tasked to engage in jointoperations.
06. Campus security will be continuously enhanced throughconduct of relevant training, salary upgrades, hiring ofqualified security personnel and use of affordable technology(e.g. barrier grates and CCTV).

01. Only qualified personnel can do guarding duties in thecampus.
02. No UP sticker, No entry without a UP-issued sticker, nomotorist can enter and exit at any gate except the Univ Ave.
03. Except for the Univ Ave, all gates close at 10 pm and
open at 5 am. 04. Deployment of SGs are rotated regularly to prevent
problems resulting from familiarization.
05. Crime deterrence through maximum police visibility
06. Strict enforcement of maximum tolerance whenconfronted with mass actions
07. Peace and order maintenance with utmost regard tohuman rights and due process of law.
