Campbell Poised For Victory
SAN ANTONIO Texas State Senator Donna Campbell, after concluding her first
successful Legislative Session, is poised to cruise to victory in the 2014 Primary if
challengers persist. In poll results released today, Dr. Campbell, is well situated.
In the survey conducted by Wilson Perkins Allen, a nationally respected pollster, on
September 10-11, 2013, the results give a glimpse into what the future holds for any
would-be Campbell challenger.
Dr. Campbell had a successful Session and earned a reputation as a conservative
champion. She attended to District concerns like water, transportation, and
infrastructure while holding the line as a fiscal budget hawk, said Allen Blakemore,
the campaigns senior strategist.
These poll results show the outline and profile of a winning candidate. They paint a
picture of a bleak future for any challenger, Blakemore continued.
Key finding of the poll:
A majority of GOP Primary voters have a favorable opinion of Dr. Campbell. Most GOP Primary voters approve of Senator Campbells job performance. A majority of GOP Primary voters support Senator Campbells reelection. Donna Campbell represents a very conservative electorate and her strong
conservative values and ideological beliefs are reflective of her constituents.
Pollster Chris Perkins summarized the results, saying, Senator Donna Campbells
strong ratings and ballot support reflect the fact that likely GOP Primary voters
identify her as a conservative, and a majority of the electorate are themselves
conservative. With a majority of likely GOP Primary voters already supporting her,
along with her strong name ID and favorable image rating, Senator Campbell is wellpositioned heading into the 2014 Primary election.
The 2014 Republican Primary will be held March 4.
