Campaign Posters and Brief Notes

Poster 1 First/Trial VersionThis was the first poster I created on photoshop, it features my first logo and hands which I rotoscoped and then used the colour range tool for to get the realistic detail. I also made the hands a shade of blue so that it didn’t offend any of my target audience. However, on the next slide you can see how I developed this idea into something better as I didn’t like the style of this poster as a I didn’t think the semi-realistic hands ( apart from the colour) matched and suited the cartoon art style of the tree. I also used quite a basic font which I decided to develop in my next poster (seen on next slide).

Poster 1 Final/Developed VersionThis is my second and more developed version of my first poster (original on previous slide). I prefer this more as I think the art styles match better than on the 1st one, e.g. the tree and the hands are both cartoon-like. This also features my final and more developed logo too, I think this Is better than the other ones I tried, I also think this works well as I used colours which feature in the poster I.e. I used the greens from the tree and the brown from the font and the trunk, I think this makes my poster(s) more consistent.

As for looking back on my mood board ideas I think this poster has worked out quite well and is similar to my original idea, which I wrote down in my mood board PowerPoint, as I have stuck to my idea about having the tree in the hands.

Poster 2 This is another one of my final three posters, I used the tree from my first try of poster 1. I made it more cartoon-like for this poster though and made the colour of the tree the same as the ones used in my tree in my developed version of poster 1, I think this helps to make my art style consistent throughout. I also used the same font as my other final posters and I think this helps to make them all more recognisable as a set of posters, I also like the bark effect, on the text and it fits the theme of the posters well.

I also think this poster follows my mood board planning well as I have stuck to them ideas throughout the production process and I think that helped me to be consistent with my art style.

Poster 3 This is my third and final poster, when I planned this poster I had my questionnaire in mind, as a lot of people said loosing animals to deforestation was their many worry so I decided to make a poster addressing this issue to make people act on their concern. I created this orangutan so that it was looking right at the audience to act as direct address to make the ‘do you want to see them homeless?’ text more effective. I have also laid out all the information on the right in the in the same way to make my posters all have a similar house style to them.

This poster also worked out to be similar to my planning idea. The only thing I decided to change is the position of the orangutan to the left instead of it being positioned in the middle like I had originally planned. I did this so it followed a similar house-style to the rest of my posters (with the image on the left and text on the right).
