MAKENA JANSSON Makena is very excited about Camp Olowalu!
She is studying Education with an Art
Minor at Colorado College in Colorado
Springs and is thrilled to be home for the
summer. Makena loves all outdoor activities
and some of her favorite pass times
include; hiking, water-sports, volleyball,
painting, and of course, being around kids!
She is CPR, AED & First Aid Certified.
COSA Camp Olowalu Summer Adventure - Overnight Co-ed Camping - Ages 9-13
HADEN TIMMONS Hayden is an enthusiastic
graduate from Seabury Hall, from Maui's own upcountry. He plans to
attend the University of San Diego this fall to study
Business Administration while pursuing his passion
for surfing and soccer! Hayden is originally from
the Rocky Mountains in the heart of Utah. He loves to
hike, explore and do anything outdoors! Hayden eats as many tropical fruits and acai bowls as his belly can handle. He also loves
to swim and sit by the campfire roasting s'mores! He can't wait to experience
his first year at camp.
He is CPR, AED & First Aid Certified.

Alice Tremble majored in Packaging Design at both Art & Design HS in Manhattan and
Rochester Institute of Technology in NY. She has lived in Maui for 20 years with her
husband Glenn, daughter Paulina and son Ryder. She followed her interests in many
things creative and became involved with the design of the new Tentalow’s at Camp
Olowalu. Soon after, helped coordinate the cleanup process of invasive species and the planting of natives and edibles and is now
Camp Olowalu’s Managing Director. A good home cooked meal with her family and
friends is amongst her favorite things to do, along with conjuring up new projects. She
loves music, art, kids, animals and entertaining; plays tennis, makes jewelry, will
trim the orchards or reel in a Mahi. She is combining her creativity with her nurturing
side in this new venture as director & coordinator of Camp Olowalu

COLTON COWELL Colton is a graduate of
King Kekaulike High school, and currently attends the
University of Hawaii at Manoa where he will be a Sophomore in the Fall of 2016. He is a member of
the Universities pre-Psychology program, and
aspires to major in psychobiology, a
behavioral neuroscience. He is also a member of the
Men’s Volleyball team wearing #17, which
competes in supposedly the most difficult collegiate volleyball conference in the nation, the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation).
When he is not studying or playing volleyball, Colton enjoys going to the beach, exercising, coaching beach volleyball camps, watching movies, listening to music,
and eating large containers of ice cream. Colton is very
excited to coordinate activities at Camp Olowalu
Summer Adventure.

ELLE BEGA Elle is an energetic
graduate of Seabury Hall. She was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii. She loves to sing, act, and dance hula. Elle loves spending time
outdoors going to the beach, hiking, and working out. She
currently attends Biola University in La Mirada,
California studying Kinesiology with a
double minor in Psychology and Bible. Elle is also currently a
youth leader at Waipuna Chapel. She spends
time mentoring kids and is also a camp leader for
the Unashamed Summer Camp.
She is CPR, AED & First Aid Certified.

Hannah lived in Florida where she graduated from The University of Central
Florida with a degree in Hospitality Business Management. While attending
college she worked with country clubs and hotels before moving to Maui to work with the Hyatt. Hannah is passionate about her
family/friends and enjoying every day to its fullest. She loves sushi, spending her free time at the beach and exploring Maui’s natural resources. Hannah was supper excited about helping Camp Olowalu
become a beautiful and viable place to camp again. As of February she brought
her strong work ethic, motivation and positive vibe to Camp Olowalu.

PAULINA TREMBLE Paulina was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii. She just finished her first year at Loyola Marymount University in southern California. She loves the beach, and spend much of her free time swimming, surfing, stand up paddling, or just enjoying the warm sand while seeking in a snapshot. She loves to sing, play the guitar, and take
photographs. Her love for the ocean inspired her to get her underwater scuba certification at the age of 14 and capturing beautiful photographs of tropical fish and sea life. She finds herself playing with multiple camera types and experimenting with digital editing applications. One of her favorite things to eat is a chicken and avocado sandwich, but will never turn down chocolate chip cookies. She and children gravitate towards each other and looks forward to having fun at Camp Olowalu Summer Adventure COSA.

Campground Manager & COSA Counselor
Alin was born in the heart of Transylvania and grew up hiking,
camping, rock climbing and skiing in the same mountains Count Dracula lived in long ago. His passion for the outdoors led him to YMCA Camp Campbellgard, Ohio where he shared his experiences as a camp counselor and ropes course coordinator. While in college, he built ropes courses and zip lines in almost
every state, including Hawaii. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky
University with a Masters of Science degree in Outdoor Recreation and Park
Administration. Currently, he is a Campground Manager at Camp
Olowalu and extremely excited to be involved again with summer camp
programs. He enjoys cooking Romanian dishes for family and friends and loves watching his two-year-old son grow up.

SOPHIE JANSSON cook & activities Sophie cannot wait to
experience Camp Olowalu along with all the children!
Sophie is from the Upcountry area on Maui,
and is back for the summer from Pomona College in Claremont,
California. Every summer, Sophie has enjoyed
spending time with her family, her dog, and friends, whether it be
backpacking, going to the beach, or cooking! Sophie
is very passionate about the environment, and
hopes to study environmental analysis
and history while in school. This summer, in
addition to camp, she will be a part of the Hawaii
Youth Conservation Corps, a program which focuses on conservation in Maui
County. Sophie loves being outdoors and hopes to spend lots of time in the water, swimming, surfing, and jumping off of cliffs! Sophie is very excited to meet all the campers and
get to know everyone!

SAVY JANSSON cook & activities
Savy is super excited to be a counselor this year!
As a student athlete at Chapman University,
Savy cannot wait to come back home and have a
great time at camp. After an avid camper Savy,
knows her way around a campground, and she can't wait to see what this camp has in store.
Savy loves the outdoors, especially the ocean. She
loves to go hiking, surfing, swimming, and
have fun! Savy is looking forward to star gazing and campfires--two of
her favorite camp activities!

Campground Resident Manager
We welcome Sebastian, his wife Mumi and 2 daughters to Camp Olowalu. He
is a native South American with a passion for nature, its people and
strongly believes in the importance of being connected with the
outdoors. He is grateful for life, his family and to live and work in Olowalu.
Sebastian is committed to keeping it safe, clean, enjoyable and above all a peaceful place for all to experience a
little of how Hawaii used to be. His loves for animals and knowledge of
edible plants drew him towards the art of raw food cooking. Together, he and his wife established an impressive raw
food Instagram following that spans the globe. We look forward to their
food and smoothy truck with everything delicious and raw, soon to
come at Camp Olowalu.
