SKILLED TRADESSUMMER CAMP WEEK 6
ENHANCED PROGRAM
Our world needs skilled workers more than ever! Scouts have always been the BEST candidates for a variety of jobs because of the amazing experiences you get through Merit Badge study. From astronauts to engineers, meteorologists to movie makers, many people have gotten their start in Scouting. At Camp La-No-Che, we feel the same about the study of the skilled (vocational) trades...so much that we have focused a whole WEEK on them!
Join with other Scouts in our week-long INTENSIVE Skilled Trades Enhanced Program and learn from EXPERTS. Choose a focused “track” from the list below and gain real life experience studying with instructors who work in the field. Woodworkers teaching Woodworking, Plumbers teaching Plumbing, and Welders teaching Welding! End your week with an off camp experience hosted by Valencia College where you will participate in a hands-on experience on their campus, opening up a path for you to an exciting future career!
15
Choose one of these ENHANCED Program Tracks* when you select Merit Badge Programs:
Welding and Electronics: Spend 4 days learning basic and advanced Welding, electronic theory and technology, and more from Valencia College instructors. Visit their vocational school on Friday and experience the real thing!
Woodworking and Plumbing: Spend half of each day learning the basics of woodworking and half the day surrounded by piping and fixtures. Then apply all your new skills on a major project to take home and display! Friday will feature a trip to Valencia to learn how to turn your interest into a career!
Robotics: Your week begins with the basics of Robotics, hosted by professionals and featuring special guest instructors bringing your study to life. Then when you visit Valencia, be prepared to see robotic technology in action in some exciting and unexpected ways!
*These “tracks” take a Scout’s ENTIRE Merit Badge Program schedule for the week. Activity periods will still be available to fill. All tracks include a Friday off camp visit to Valencia College.
During Program Sign-up (starting March 1) choose “Skilled Trades Enhanced” from the Catalog and then select your track.
EACH TRACK REQUIRES A $35 ADDITIONAL FEE
