Join The Fun At Thousand Waves’ Exciting and Popular Summer Camp!
SEIDO KARATEEvery morning the campers have a one hour class in Seido karate, a traditional Japanese martial art dedicated to developing a strong, healthy body and a spirit of compassion and generosity. Students receive instruction for their level, from beginner to junior black belt.
MARTIAL ARTS GAMES AND ACTIVITIESAfter a delicious snack of fruit and crackers, a variety of exciting martial arts enrichment classes are o�ered, such as nunchaku, board breaking, kata and sparring tournaments, and circuit/�tness training.
OUTDOOR PLAYEvery afternoon, the bus takes the campers to the lakefront for lunch and two hours of swimming, beach fun, sports, and free time with friends. We provide spirited chess and checkers tournaments in our supportive and respectful environment. Camp Kokoro is a video -game free space and we ask the children to leave electronic devices at home.
FIELD TRIPSession 2 and 3 include an all-day outing to the popular Mystic Waters Water Park in Des Plaines.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR CITSCounselors in Training receive instruction on how to be e�ective and compassionate leaders. They enjoy camp activities with their peers and assist the counselors with the younger children, gaining self-respect, con�dence and leadership skills.
PERFORMANCE CAMP AND AWARDSEach session concludes with a performance and awards ceremony. Campers new to

students receive credit for 8 Seido karate classes in Session 1, 15
