CAMP IDS Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I register my child/children?A: Visit www.corbettprep.com and click on CAMP IDS banner.

Q: What are my payment options?A: In order to guarantee your camper a place at camp, you must pay a deposit of 50% of the camp total upon registration.

Q: What is the CAMP IDS refund policy prior to May 1, 2019?A: Prior to May 1, 2019, ALL payments are fully refundable. Q: What is the CAMP IDS refund policy on May 1, 2019 or later?A: • On or after May 1, 2019, all deposits are non-refundable. • If a camp is PAID IN FULL, 50% of the FULL payment will be refunded ONLY if requested 10 days prior to the start of that camp.

Q: When must my camps be paid in full (including transportation and extended day fees)?A: Weekly camp balances beyond the deposit are due the Monday prior to the week of camp. Q: Can I add camps after my initial registration?A: Yes, you can login any time up through the Thursday prior to the start of each camp week and add camps.

Q: What will full-day campers do between their morning and afternoon camps?A: Full-day campers have a 30-minute supervised lunch period between morning and afternoon camps.

Q: Is lunch provided?A: Campers can bring their lunch from home. Campers may purchase their own lunch and snacks daily from our CASH-ONLY a-la-carte menu at WARRIORS’ OASIS CAFÉ. Campers can bring a prepaid debit card with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express logo to purchase lunch/snack as needed.

Q: Is transportation provided?A: Families can purchase weekly round-trip transportation for $30 per camper. Our stops are in South Tampa, New Tampa, and Westchase. Trips are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFER-ABLE on or after May 1.

Q: Do campers need to wear their CAMP IDS shirts every day?A: Wearing the CAMP IDS shirt is optional. Additional shirts will be available for purchase on the CAMP IDS VIP DAY and every Monday of camp.

Q: What is CAMP IDS VIP DAY?A: Families have the opportunity to visit CAMP IDS prior to the start of camp to make changes, pay balances, meet our directors and even take a tour of our beautiful campus. Families who pay balances in full will receive CAMP IDS spirit bags stuffed with fun goodies. CAMP IDS VIP DAY will be held in April. Families will be notified of VIP dates and times in March.

Q: Which grade level are campers placed in?A: Specified grade levels are the grades that campers will be entering in the 2019-20 school year.

Q: What happens if I need to change camps or the weeks that my child attends camp?A: Prior to May 1, 2019, families can call the camp office to have changes made to their child’s schedule penalty free. On or after May 1, 2019, there is a $30 change-fee per each camp that is changed.

Q: What if I am late picking up my child from camp? A: All campers picked up after 3:15p.m. will be charged $12 for extended aftercare. Charges will be made to the card used during the camp registration process.

Q: What if I need extended aftercare for my child? A: You may purchase extended aftercare for your child for $60 per week. This includes a snack and supervised play throughout our beautiful campus.

Q: What if I don’t use the full week of extended aftercare?A: On or after May 1, 2019, all extended aftercare is NON-REFUNDABLE. Daily extended after-care is available for $12 per day and registration takes place by phone during the week of camp that your child will attend.

Dear Parents:

We invite your children to spend their summer at CAMP IDS 2019. This summer camp is staffed by Corbett Prep’s dedicated, dynamic, and highly skilled directors and counselors. For over 20 years, CAMP IDS has provided extraordinary experiences in Sports, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Academics, Recreation, Language, and numerous STEAM options in an exciting, fun, and supportive environment. The campus is located on beautiful Lake Lipsey, providing an idyllic setting for a terrific and memorable summer experience.

Over 1000 children from all over the Tampa Bay area flock to CAMP IDS. Our camp is divided into seven weekly sessions from June 10 through July 26, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily. Campers may participate in either full- or half-day camp sessions. To honor Independence Day, CAMP IDS will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2019.

Included in the price of camp is the following:•Extended care in the mornings from 7:15 - 8:15 a.m.•CAMP IDS T-Shirt for every camper•And a great summer experience with an exemplary and exciting staff!

We are, once again, offering bus transportation to and from camp for a weekly fee of $30 (one way or roundtrip to and from Westchase, South Tampa, and New Tampa). Extended care is available in the afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for $60 a week.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are available daily for purchase at our CAMP IDS Warrior’s Oasis Cafe. For full day campers, lunch is a supervised 30-minute break between morning and afternoon camps.

Families will have two options for purchasing lunches. Options 1 - Campers will bring cash to purchase lunch/snack as needed.Options 2 - Campers can bring a prepaid debit card with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express log to purchase lunch/snack as needed.

Academic Camps

LANGUAGE

BONJOUR FRANÇAIS Grades: (K-2) & (3-5)Campers will have fun learning basic French vocabulary and expressions! We will sing songs and play games, compete in scavenger hunts and explore the geography of the French-speaking world, all the while keeping a journal of our learning. At the end of the week, we will celebrate with a fête and film. On s’amusera bien—we’ll have lots of fun!

BON VOYAGE EN FRANCE Grades: (K-2) & (3-5)Pack your imagination for a fun “trip” to France! Campers will immerse themselves in French culture and language as they pretend to travel abroad. They will create French passports, design tourism posters and craft other items to bring their journey to life. A great camp if students are considering traveling to a francophone country or just like learning about new places!

CAMP FIESTA Grades: (K-2) & (3-5)Viva la fiesta! This camp will spark an appreciation for diverse Latin cultures as campers dance, play games and create crafts, having fun learning basic Spanish vocabulary and phrases. Camp Fiesta is an exciting and engaging introduction to the study of Español!

CHINESE PARADISE Grades: (K-2) & (3-5) In Chinese Paradise (zhong guo le yuan), we will learn Chinese language and customs from a native Chinese teacher. Learn a language spoken by over 1 billion people by celebrating with hands-on activities, games, food, and cultural discoveries!

MATH

MATH MYSTERIES & GAMES Grades: (6-8)Campers will experience an engaging time with math games, mysteries, and more. You will collaborate with other campers using new and prior math knowledge to solve challenging math puzzles! Come join our team for a week of fascination in a world of math you have never experienced before!

MATH MAGIC Grades: (K-1)Campers experience the joy of math through hands-on activities and games designed to expand their knowledge and excite them about numbers. Math will come alive as campers build a strong foundation in their mathematical skills!

MATH FUNDAMENTALS Grades: (2-3) & (4-5)Keep your math skills sharp this summer! Campers will study a variety of topics including fractions, integers, time, and money. Campers will receive lots of practice using calculators and other math tools as well as engaging in creative, and edible, math activities. Topics will be customized to meet individual needs, including an introduction to algebra for older children.

MATH STAR Grades: (K-2)A great way for kids to learn to LOVE MATH is to combine math and movement with fun and purpose! Math facts come to life during this interactive STEM Camp that exercises minds and bodies. Each day math concepts will be explored through physically active games, stories, and songs to promote engagement and increase retention.

SHOW ME THE MONEY Grades: (6-8)Basic operations, percentages and critical thinking are put to the test in this financial challenge. Students will learn financial literacy, good decision-making, and the value of a hard-earned dollar. They will learn how to save and basic financial skills. Students will earn a paycheck as they learn about banks, checking and savings accounts and bill paying. They will practice analyzing spending, using budgets, and computing monthly payments. It will be a fun simulation of what is to come in their futures!

READING

BOOKWORMS and FUN WITH NUMBERS Grades: (PreK3-PreK4)Designed to spark a young child’s curiosity in letters and numbers and encourage a lifelong love of learning, this camp will promote the fun of reading books, making crafts, playing games, and singing songs to connect with letters and their sounds. We’ll begin building math readiness skills through fun activities, focused on number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and rote counting. A short nap time is included.

LIVING LITERATURE Grades: (K-2) “Kuplink, kuplank, kuplunk.” Classics of children’s literature like Blueberries for Sal come alive in this camp through reading, writing, arts and crafts, edible projects, and fun and games. Jumpstart your child’s love of books.

READING Grades: (2-3) & (4-5)Campers will develop their reading proficiency by learning and practicing a variety of strategies to improve comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. Skills such as finding facts, making inferences, identifying the main idea, and drawing conclusions will be emphasized. Practicing these skills also helps with standardized test prep!

READING ROUNDUP Grades: (K-1)New and emerging readers experience the joy of reading as they practice and strengthen their skills. Exciting educational activities will enrich the reading experience and make reading FUN!

SCIENCE

JUNIOR SCIENTISTS Grades: (K-2) Be a “mad scientist” for a week! Discover the wonders of science by performing different experiments each day. Young scientists will learn the fundamentals of physical, earth, and life sciences through hands-on activities and make creations to take home and share their newfound knowledge.

WRITING

TEEN MAGAZINE Grades: (6-8) Review the summer’s hottest movies. Voice your opinion in an editorial. Write a feature story about your favorite band or hobby. Journalists will focus on the six essentials of great writing — ideas, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, voice, and conventions — and ultimately, produce an issue of our CAMP IDS Magazine for all campers to read.

WONDROUS WRITERS Grades: (3-5)Campers will be introduced to elements that make writing exciting and interesting enough to capture a reader’s attention. Campers will discover the skills needed to pen their best writing, discover their “voice,” and gain more confidence as authors. Hands-on activities will inspire their writing as campers work through the full process of writing. Every camper will have his or her work published in hard book form to enjoy for many years to come.

Communications Camps

BROADCASTING Grades: (4-8) Do you have a passion for news? Be part of the WIDS news team on the CAMP IDS beat. Each week, campers will produce a newscast from the Corbett Prep broadcast studio. Campers will write their own stories and take turns as anchors and reporters. Learn to use studio cameras and operate equipment such as a teleprompter, switchboard, and soundboard.

CLAYMATION Grades: (3-5)Budding filmmakers, get ready to create your own clay animation movie! Working in teams, campers will create characters, sets, and storyboards, and they will choose music and animate their characters using stop-motion animation. By the end of the week, the movies and special effects will be compiled, edited, and ready for the premiere! Everyone will take home a digital copy!

NEWSPAPER Grades: (4-8)Read all about it! Become a reporter and tell exciting news stories of your week at CAMP IDS through print media and photography. Learn how to conduct an interview. Sharpen your writing and editing skills using Microsoft Publisher to create a CAMP IDS newspaper to distribute to all campers at the end of the week.

Performing Arts Camps

ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE Grades: (2-5)This class takes a look into the art of musical theatre. It focuses on learning musical theatre numbers and also takes a fun and educational look into the Golden Age of musical theatre. Students will learn about how to put on a musical and enjoy singing, dancing, and acting throughout the week.

BAND Grades: (5-8)Summer Band Camp hits many high notes as it includes daily master-classes, music theory, and musicianship. Students will perform in either the beginning or advanced band. Instruction in flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion is offered. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Campers need to provide their own instruments.

DRAMA Grades: (K-5), (K-8), & (6-8) Do you like to be on stage? Have a blast building your acting skills this summer. You will learn basic stage terms, play fun improvisational games, and work on short scenes – all in a cooperative and spirited environment.

MUSICAL THEATRE I (Morning, 2-week camp) Grades: (K-2)Please join us as we rehearse and perform in a production of Pippi Longstocking by author Astrid Lindgren and playwright Thomas W. Olson. This half-day camp will teach students from kindergarten-2nd grade all about putting on a play! They will play theatre games and learn songs and dances as they prepare to appear in four special performances! The performances will take place on June 21 & June 22—there will be two performances each day.

** Auditions will take place on Wednesday, May 29 from 3–5 p.m. Audition materials will be emailed to you once you register. * Please email Julie Nelson if you are coming from a different school and will have a challenge getting to the audition by 3 p.m. If you have any questions, please email Julie Nelson at [email protected].

MUSICAL THEATRE II (Full-Day, 2-week camp) Grades: (3-8)Please join us as we rehearse and perform in a production of Pippi Longstocking by author Astrid Lindgren and playwright Thomas W. Olson. This full-day camp will teach students in 3rd-8th grade all about putting on a production. They will learn songs and dances and have an opportunity to perform in a final production. The performances will take place on June 21 & June 22—there will be two performances each day.

MUSICAL THEATRE III (Full Day 2-week camp) Grades: (9-12)La Vie Boheme! Jonathan Larson’s iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent shaped a generation of audiences and taught us all to measure our life in love!

Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent School Edition is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

Auditions and callbacks for Rent School Edition will be held on Saturday, June 1. Once you are registered for the camp, audition information will be emailed to you. Emails regarding auditions will go out in the middle of May.

For auditions, please prepare 16-32 bars of a pop-rock song in the style of Rent. (Audition songs can be from non-musicals.) Please bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No tracks or a capella auditions. Callbacks will take place the same day. Please be familiar with the music from the show.Show dates for Rent School Edition will be June 27-29. **Please note: For the week of June 24-29, rehearsals and performances will take place in the evening as well as during the day. PIANO Grades: (2-8)Piano camp is designed to provide personalized instruction to students of different ages and levels of experience, from absolute beginners to advanced students. The camp will include individual instruction, supervised practice, music theory, ear training, and an overview of important piano literature. Campers will have the opportunity to perform on the final day of each week. Campers are encouraged to sign up for both weeks to gain a greater appreciation for the beauty of piano music.

SONG WRITING Grades: (5-8)Have you ever had the desire to write a song, but need to know where to start? We can help! In this camp, we will guide students through the songwriting process, from brainstorming and generating lyrics, to creating melodies and selecting song styles and chord progression. STAGE LIGHTS DANCE CAMP Grades: (K-2) & (3-5)Stage Lights Dance Camp is a contagiously fun and engaging camp that touches on Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and Musical Theater Dance. Campers will learn several dances during the week and will express their creativity with some engaging dance games. Dress to move. Sneakers, jazz and/or ballet shoes recommended.

STRINGS Grades: (1-8)Summer Strings Camp strikes a chord! Camp will include daily master-classes, music theory, musicianship, and performance ensembles. Musicians will be placed in groups based on grade level and experience. Violin, viola, cello, and bass are offered. Beginner and experienced students are welcome. Campers need to provide their own instruments.

TAP IT OUT Grades: (1-4)This class takes a look into the art of tap dancing. It focuses on syncopation and learning a combination of steps but also takes a fun and educational look into how tap dancing began with some of the classic tap dancers such as Shirley Temple, Bojangles Robinson, and Fred Astaire. Recreation Camps

ADVENTURE CAMP Grades: (3-5)Every day is a new and exciting adventure when campers set out for some of the coolest places around. Outings may include MOSI, Q-Zar, The Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, Pin Chasers, trampoline parks, Odyssey Cruises, PK’s Playzone, the Clearwater Pool, and a Raymond James Stadium tour. Outings vary from week to week. Bus transportation provided.

BABYSITTER’S CLUB Grades: (5-8)Are you ready for adventures in babysitting? Be fully prepared to get a paid babysitting job! Practice infant/child CPR and learn how to prepare for emergencies. Discover and play age-appropriate games, make creative snacks, and create your all important babysitter’s survival toolkit.

BAKE IT-TAKE IT Grades: (3-8)Eat dessert first! Campers can hone their culinary skills while making their own yummy confectionery creations. Campers will work together to bake tasty treats. The best part is that each day campers bring home their delicious treats to share with their families. Recipes may vary from week to week.

CHESS FOR KIDS Grades: (1-4) & (4-8)Delivered by the MASTERS! Stay mentally sharp and make friends learning one of the world’s premier strategy games. Chess provides a lifetime of enjoyment, stimulates brain development, and enhances problem solving abilities. Whether your camper is a newcomer to chess or an experienced player, our highly skilled instructors provide the right level of training.

COOKING CAMP Grades: (4-8)Do your children enjoy helping in the kitchen? Take their skills to the next level! In this hands-on cooking camp, children will explore a variety of cuisines from around the world while learning to read recipes, measure ingredients, and be creative in the kitchen. Campers create a balanced menu each day and then enjoy the fruits of their labor.

DINOSAUR DISCOVERY! Grades: (K-2)Younger kids will become archaeologists, uncovering dinosaur bones, mapping the grid, excavating the bones, and learning about the dinosaur back in the “lab.” They’ll create a wall-sized mural of their dinosaur in its habitat. Plus, the campers will document the whole Dino Discovery experience and take home a digital memory of their adventure!

FISHING Grades: (6-8) Campers will learn about basic fishing techniques, conservation, marine biology, and aquatic organisms as they travel to different fishing trip sites! In addition to daily fishing trips, anglers will learn about spin casting, baits and lures, knot tying, cast netting, fishing techniques, canoeing/kayaking, marine biology, and fly casting. With all the fish we catch, we will quickly identify and release.

MODEL ROCKETRY Grades: (3-8)Blast off! Campers will experience the thrill of building their own rockets and watching them lift off, soar hundreds of feet into the sky, and return to earth. We’ll explore the basics of rocketry and aerodynamics. Campers will be provided with two rocket kits and suitable engines for launch during the week.

MYSTICAL MUGGLES Grades: (3-5)Are you a wiz at wizardry? Are you awesome for alchemy? Come learn how to play Quidditch, make your own wand, bake a cauldron cake, and much more! New to planting mandrakes and crafting Polyjuice Potion? Never fear, your professors are here. Join us on a wondrous journey into the fantastical grounds of CAMP IDS, and be ready to put your imagination to work.

PRE-REC Grades: (PreK3-PreK4)This camp promises to be a wonderful experience, designed specifically for our youngest campers. We’ll make new friends and share lots of giggles as we explore a wide variety of activities on campus: splashing in wading pools, creating crafts, reading stories, playing in the gym, making music, and so much more. A short nap time is included.

ROCKIN’ RECREATION Grades: (K-2)What do campers from K-2nd grade like? Bowling, roller skating, watching movies, playing miniature golf, and jumping at Pump it Up. So that’s what we do! We also spend time making crafts, playing indoor and outdoor games, reading stories, baking, acting, and enjoying music. This camp includes something for everyone, and it’s tons of fun. Bus transportation provided.

TEEN REC Grades: (6-8)Teens and preteens will be on the go and challenged in this camp where every day holds new adventures! Campers can visit a variety of spots to enjoy activities such as rock climbing, laser tag, ice skating, horseback riding, movies, swimming at the beach, bowling, go carts, and more. Outings vary from week to week. Bus transportation provided.

TRAILBLAZERS Grades: (3-5)If you love the outdoors, this camp is for you. We’ll canoe and fish and learn wilderness survival skills such as how to set up a tent, build a lean-to, navigate with a compass, and make a “campfire,” all from the picturesque banks of Lake Lipsey on campus.

UNDER THE SEA Grades: (K-2) Coral reefs. Kelp forests. Marine life. Future oceanographers and marine scientists will have fun learning about the wonders of life under the sea through a variety of hands-on activities. Your child will wow you with knowledge the next time you go to the beach!

WARRIOR GAMES Grades: (5-8)Welcome to the 4th Annual Warrior Games! Campers will be placed into 4-6 person tribes and compete in 5 days of team challenges. Events will include obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, canoe races, and many more challenging activities! We will have an opening and closing ceremony, and each child will receive an award for completing the Warrior Game Challenge! Is your child the next Ultimate Warrior? Bus transportation provided.

WILDERNESS EXTREME Grades: (5-8) Looking for some adventure? Wilderness Extreme provides campers with an opportunity to discover the dynamic Tampa Bay area through a series of physical challenges. Suggested activities may include hiking, mountain biking, snorkeling, canoeing (including instruction), inline skating or navigating a high-ropes course. Bus transportation provided.

ACTIVE PLAY YOGA Grades: (K-2)Active Play Yoga campers will enjoy interactive fun-filled yoga classes that focus on posture, breathwork, stories, music, play, crafts, and relaxation! We theme each class around the principles of yoga: kindness, sharing, compassion, mindfulness, meditation and self-awareness. Our creativeand passionate certified instructors will immerse campers with laughter, self-confidence and creativity, gifting each child with all of the research-based benefits yoga has to offer!

ARCHERY Grades: (3-8)Campers learn proper archery range safety and techniques while aiming for the bullseye in this popular camp. We will use an archery range set up on campus. As the week progresses, campers will play archer games in groups. All equipment is provided.

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL HITTING AND FIELDING Grades: (4-8) Florida Baseball Institute sessions will offer both fundamental basic-skill development as well as advanced-skill development utilizing various hitting and throwing technologies. The camp is led by former Division I softball athletes and former Major League Baseball coaches and players. Florida Baseball Institute camps are hosted at the Cooper Sports Performance facility.

Athletes will access the HitTrax hitting system which measures swing performance including the distance, speed, and trajectory of the ball. Video swing analysis will also be used to give players that “perfect swing.” Bus transportation provided.

CHEERLEADING Grades: (1-2) & (3-5)Cheerleading is a high-energy sport that combines athleticism and creativity. This camp covers fundamental cheerleading skills including chants, cheers, jumps, basic stunts, tumbling, and dancing. At the end of the week, we’ll perform for parents and friends. Beginners welcome!

FLAG FOOTBALL Grades: (4-8)Learn the fundamentals of the sport of football through friendly competition. Flag football gives young athletes the benefit of working as a team and stretching their physical limits. Players develop the essential skills necessary for 7 v 7. Scrimmage games will be a part of this activity as teams learn how to execute plays.

GOLF Grades: (4-8)Introduce your camper to the game of golf. We’ll focus on the basics of the golf swing, golf etiquette, and everything needed to play a round of golf. We will spend the beginning of the week at driving ranges and putting greens learning the fundamentals. Bus transportation is provided.

HIGH PERFORMANCE VOLLEYBALL Grades: (4-7) & (8-12)Learn from two-time Olympian Keba Phipps! All volleyball players, regardless of skill level, will enjoy a positive experience practicing the art of digs, spikes, serves and volleys. Once students have a solid grasp of how to perform the moves, they will have the opportunity to compete against each other in practice matches.

LACROSSE Grades: (3-6)Campers to learn about the game of lacrosse and all the basic fundamental skills associated with it: scooping, cradling, catching, throwing, shooting, game strategies, offense and defense skill sets. This is all achieved in a safe and enjoyable environment, utilizing soft - stick lacrosse principles(no contact lacrosse) that do not require the use of protective equipment. Sticks and balls are provided. A willingness to learn and have fun are all that is required.

MARTIAL ARTS Grades: (K-3)Build your child’s confidence, discipline, and focus. CAMP IDS is offering an in-house self-defense program that includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and modern Tae Kwon Do. Campers will receive professional instruction in a fun and positive atmosphere.

MATBALL Grades: (3-5), (4-8) & (6-8)Similar to kickball, matball has become a very popular game – students of all ages love it! Matball teaches teamwork and helps hand-eye coordination, catching and throwing skills, quick reaction- and decision-making skills, and provides a great cardiovascular workout. We will also play some traditional kickball.

MINDFULNESS YOGA Grades: (3-5)Change reactive behaviors into creative solutions! This interactive fun-filled yoga class focuses on skills that will engage each camper’s mind and body, teaching them how to take their practice off the mat and into their daily lives. Mindfulness, movement, partner poses, breathing, focus, compassion, inner peace, and patience are just a few of the principles campers will practice.

SILLY SPORTS AND GOOFY GAMES Grades: (1-3)A mix of P.E. favorites and new activities, this camp teaches sports skills and games through cooperative forms of play. Join us for lots of giggles and silliness as we learn new games that build collaboration and self-esteem and sharpen children’s reflexes and imaginations.

SOCCER Grades: (3-8)Campers will receive coaching in all aspects of soccer to help develop and improve their tactical and technical skills as well as promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and self-esteem on and off the field. Playing small-sided soccer has many benefits for developing young players including more repeated touches of the ball, more attacking 1 v 1s, and increased decision-making experience. Coaches will help maximize players’ natural abilities, while remaining focused on our primary aim to have fun. Two days a week campers will travel to local 5-A-side fields to apply and practice their new skills. Bus transportation provided.

SOCCER (INDOOR BOYS & GIRLS) Grades: (2-6) This indoor soccer program will focus on small-sided games along with quick feet skills and movement. Coaches will teach players how to manage positions and understand the responsibilities of attack and defense.

SOCCER SHOTS Grades: (K-2) Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on skill and character development. Our trained coaches positively impact children’s lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, communication, and curriculum. Soccer Shots coaches train for over 40 hours on an expert-approved curriculum and make sure every child participates while having fun!

SPORTS MASH UP Grades: (3-5)This camp is a great way for children to learn the basics of several core P.E. sports such as flag football, soccer, and basketball. Campers will experience a healthy workout as they enjoy games and teamwork.

YOGA FOR YOUNG ATHLETES Grades: (6-8)In this camp, we will learn how yoga can build core strength, balance, stamina, flexibility and range of motion and how student athletes can benefit. Professional basketball players Kevin Love and LeBron James and football stars Tom Brady and Ray Lewis include yoga as part of their training regimen. This camp will explore different styles of yoga and breathing techniques and how these practices can improve your performance in sports. Special guests will visit to introduce us to Acro-Yoga, Yin Yoga, and meditation! By harmonizing the mind, body and breath, campers will increase their mental clarity and focus.

Ultimate Warriors Basketball Academy

The Ultimate Warriors Basketball Academy (UWBA) is an organization that puts positive coaching and goal setting at its center. Coaches offer technical instruction that is aligned with national and international standards for teaching youth basketball. Athletes improve in a MASTERY environment, where players feel free to make mistakes, and effort and focus are key components of the learning process.

RISING WARRIORS BASKETBALL Grades: (K-2)This class is an introduction to basketball through fun instructional games as it builds solid fundamentals.

STEAM/STEM & Technology Camps

3D PRINTING Grades: (6-8) Learn how to print 3D creations! Starting with the basics, we’ll cover the stages of 3D printing software called SketchUp. You’ll begin by printing items already found in SketchUp like a wrench or rocketship. You can even invent 3D designs of your own to print!

APP DESIGN Grades: (1-8) (Two Weeks) With the student-friendly program App Inventor 2 by MIT, kids learn coding while making their own apps. They are able to test their creations on either a simulator or an Android phone. Example apps our students have made include Finger Painting, Virtual Pets, and Multiplication Master.

CODE ADVENTURE Grades: (K-2)Coding and programming is easy for young girls and boys when they have hands-on tools that bring fun to learning. We’ll use special game boards and blocks designed for young learners to create the backgrounds and characters in our games. Then we’ll see our blocks transformed into games on our tablets! Using another program designed for young learners, we’ll control a robot that can draw, follow, or bounce off colors and lines, and even walk up walls.

DESIGN BY MAKING Grades: (3-8)This camp is inspired by the University of South Florida - School of Architecture & Community Design (USF-SACD) “Intro to Architecture Design” studio curriculum.Participants will enjoy design workshops, field trips, and hands-on activities taught by award-winning faculty. The program is sequenced and paced for the age and experience of elementary, middle and high school students. They will be encouraged to develop a unique and creative process as they learn specific architectural design skills. They will also experiment with different techniques, design tools and use Corbett Prep’s unique and beautiful campus for inspiration and exploration. Through an emphasis on handcraft and digital fabrication, students will have an opportunity to explore the many ways they can engage with the practice of architecture while learning about new theories, materials and technologies.This camp will give campers an introduction to the practice of architecture as they may think about career choices for their future. Field trip expenses, materials, tools, and snacks are included.

EXPLORE-MAKE-SHARE Grades: (1-3) & (4-6) Everyone is a Maker. A Maker makes things; it’s that simple. Students will have freedom to express their creativity and customize creations while developing their innate curiosity. LEGO™ FUNGINEERING Grades: (K-2) Explore, investigate, and solve problems using LEGO™ to build simple machines. Young aspiring engineers will enjoy hands-on activities with levers, gears, wheels, axles, and pulleys that combine math and science concepts with their individual creativity.

LEGO™ MOTORIZED MANIA! Grades: (3-6) Build motorized machines and vehicles in this fun, hands-on engineering camp. Young engineers will use basic engineering principles to create real-life mechanical solutions to unique challenges and come up with their own original, creative designs. LEGO™ education and technic materials are provided.

LEGO™ MOVIE MAKING Grades: (1-3) Did you love the LEGO™ Movie? Make your own! Each film crew will choose the characters and sets, make a storyboard, select the music and sound effects, and animate their LEGO™ characters using stop-motion and video animation. By the end of the week, the movie will be compiled, edited, and ready for its premiere! Everyone will take home a digital copy!

LEGO™ ROBOTICS Grades: (1-3) What’s more fun than building with LEGO™ blocks? Bringing them to life! We’ll build STEM skills in science, technology, engineering, and math when we program our LEGO™ creations to move and use sensors to activate motors and collect data. Creativity, fun, and learning for boys and girls happens every day in LEGO™ Robotics camp!

LEGO™ ROBOTICS ADVANCED Grades: (4-6) Campers will use more advanced LEGO™ robotics and more advanced computer programming in this robotics camp. We’ll build motorized vehicles and humanoid robots. STAR WARS CAMP Grades: (1-6)Campers will learn about the forces around them and have fun exploring the inventions of Star Wars. Discover the real-life space adventures of NASA and perform activities based on the Star Wars movies!

STREAMERS 1 & STREAMERS 2 Grades: (K-3)Like a hands-on book club, this popular new Adventures in Engineering (AIE) class introduces students to STEAM-themed fiction with weekly inventions based on those books. Reading will be done as a group during camp, and no book purchases are required. In Streamers II, campers will enjoy extending their camp experience with new books.

SUPERHERO POWER Grades: (1-4)Fly high, test your strength, and design superpowered structures based on the most famous DC and Marvel comics! Whether creating a gadget for Batman, slinging Spiderman’s web, or testing Captain America’s shield, students will reimagine and reenact escapes, rescues, and battles while learning STEAM concepts.

VIDEO GAME DESIGN Grades: (2-4) Want to learn how to make your own Mario-style video game? You will learn that and more as you program characters, edit backgrounds, and make all the rules for your own digital animation or game! All campers will take home a copy of their game to play on their home computer.

VIDEO GAME DESIGN II Grades: (4-6) Campers will create even more complex games and design complicated rules in this advanced video game-making camp. You make the characters, you design the backgrounds, and you make the rules in this highly creative camp. All campers will take home a copy of their game to play on their home computer.

Visual Arts Camps

FUN FURNITURE MAKEOVER Grades: (3-6) Have a small piece of wooden furniture that needs some new life? Bring it to camp, and we’ll help you turn it into your own personal work of art. After sketching out ideas, campers will sand their piece of furniture, prime it, and then get creative with color and design. Please bring an oversized paint shirt and a small item to refinish.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY Grades:(5-8)See the world with an artist’s eye through the lens of a camera. Learn photographic techniques and concepts such as abstraction, portraiture and nature photography. Create original works of art to take home. A field trip to local attraction(s) will inspire campers to view their environment in new ways. Campers can use their own digital cameras or may borrow a Corbett Prep camera during each day’s activities.

MINIATURE WORLDS Grades: (6-8)When is an Altoid tin more than a tin? In this camp, the tin transforms into a miniature world! Campers will use their creativity to dream, design and build in miniature, using everyday objects in a completely new way. This is a place where paper clips get twisted into café chairs, and plastic sushi grass gets clipped into a field. Using everything from pliers to paintbrushes, campers will love this multimedia experience. Please wear clothes suitable for all manner of creative expression.

MULTIMEDIA SCULPTURE Grades: (3-5)Enjoy a week of sculpting with clay, molding found materials, wrapping papier-mâché, and twisting wire. We will explore the arts from a 3D perspective. Campers are encouraged to bring unique objects from home that need a new purpose. We will explore the influences of artists like Calder, Rauschenberg, and Bourgeois, to name a few. Comfortable “art” clothes are best for this camp of exploration into the art of multimedia.

RECYCLE ART Grades: (K-2)Care for the earth and explore your creativity. We’ll make two- and three-dimensional works of art by building, sculpting, painting, and repurposing recycled items. Each camper will construct a recycled friend, such as a robot, animal or insect! Campers will also collaborate on an earth-friendly group project. Please bring an oversized paint shirt.

TRENDING ART Grades: (6-8)If you have ever watched an art video online and thought, “I want to try that!” you’ll want to check out this camp! We will explore different trending art techniques from melting crayons on canvas and stamping coins with fun sayings to stenciling with leaves and spray paint! This will be a mixed-media adventure to actually try out all those viral art videos and see what they are all about! Please wear clothes worthy of getting splattered, smudged and oops’d with paint.

YOUNG ARTISTS Grades: (K-2) Would you like to splatter paint like Pollock? Create works inspired by impressionists such as Monet? Build a mobile like Calder? Create pop art like Warhol?
