Summer Camp Deposits and BalancesA $25 deposit is required for each participant, for weeks 2 through 11, at the time of registration. Full balances are due for week 1 at the time of registration. Deposit is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to other THPRD programs prior to June 2. Please note: After June 2, deposits will no longer be transferable. A camp balance will be refundable or transferable only if requested at least two weeks prior to the start of the week you are requesting to drop. All camp balances will be due by 5 pm on the Monday two weeks prior to the start date of each camp week. Your space in camp will be forfeited automatically if the balance is not paid by the two-week deadline. No camp 7/4, 8/29.

Our leaders will use our theme of Passport to Fun to guide your kids in all kinds of exciting activities, games and sports as well as on various entertaining and exciting fi eld trips. Your kids will get the chance to make new friends on their many adventures and will remember the awesome summer they had in Camp Funshine. Staff supervision is available 7:30 am-6 pm. Bring a sack lunch, drink and snack daily. Trips are subject to change. Camp Busy BeesYour busy bee will have fun creating, exploring and making new friends at camp. Using our theme of Passport to Fun, our camp leaders will direct the Busy Bees in fun sports and games, creative arts and crafts and awesome fi eld trips. Multi-sports Performance CampThis camp will help young athletes improve their physical skills through a variety of sports, drills, games and more. Specifi c skill development in sports such as basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, fl ag football and tennis. A visit to the pool for a swim rounds out this week of learning and fun. Safety Town is a summer educational program that introduces safety awareness to preschool children. X-treme Tween Camp!The best summer camp experience for “tweens.” Go on amazing trips, do some awesome activities and sports, swim and make new friends. Each morning, campers head out by 9:30 am to an off-site location or park with staff via THPRD vans. Special full-day fi eld trips scheduled for Thursdays. Summer Camp Deposits and BalancesA $25 deposit is required for each participant, for weeks 2 through 11, at the time of registration. Full balances are due for week 1 at the time of registration. Deposit is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to other THPRD programs prior to June 2. Please note: After June 2, deposits will no longer be transferable. A camp balance will be refundable or transferable only if requested at least two weeks prior to the start of the
week you are requesting to drop. All camp balances will be due by 5 pm on the Monday two weeks prior to the start date of each camp week. Your space in camp will be forfeited automatically if the balance is not paid by the two-week deadline. No camp 7/4.

Nature Explorers Camp • Ages 7-10 yrsExpand your knowledge of science, learn about plants and animals, hike 2-5 miles daily, play games, and experience natural areas around our region. Three days will be spent at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park, with fi eld trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Swim on Fridays. Bring lunch, drinking water, two snacks and a backpack daily. Eco Adventure Camp • Ages 11-15 yrsThese overnight trips are designed for youth who have a desire to experience outdoor adventures while learning more about nature and environmental science. Campers will learn to set up and break down camp, cook meals and other basic camping skills. In addition to environmental education, all trips incorporate leadership and teambuilding into the week’s activities. Each trip consists of four days and three nights camping under the stars. Registration for Cooper Mountain ProgramsOut-of-district patrons are able to register for programs at Cooper Mountain Nature Park at the in-district fee rate. You will need to acquire a THPRD residency card, at no extra charge, before registration begins. Cooper Mountain program registration for both in-district and out-of-district patrons will begin Saturday, April 26. This special out-of-district fee exemption is only valid for programs at Cooper Mountain Nature Park.
A $25 deposit is required for each participant, for weeks 2 through 11, at the time of registration. Full balances are due for week 1 at the time of registration. Deposit is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to other THPRD programs prior to June 2. Please note: After June 2, deposits will no longer be transferable. A camp balance will be refundable or transferable only if requested at least two weeks prior to the start of the
week you are requesting to drop. All camp balances will be due by 5 pm on the Monday two weeks prior to the start date of each camp week. Your space in camp will be forfeited automatically if the balance is not paid by the two-week deadline. No camp 7/4.

The Nature House and the Cooper Mountain Nature Park are a partnership between Metro and THPRD. This beautiful park has views of Tualatin Valley from many of its three miles of trails and a variety of habitats that are becoming rare in our region.

Animal CommunicationsHoots and howls are not the only ways that animals talk to each other. Besides sound, animals use other ways to send messages including body language, dancing, and scent-marking. Camp Green • Ages 10-13 yrsCamp Green provides opportunities to delve into the scientifi c world in which we live. We’ll do science-based activities and explore how our daily lives are intertwined with the environment. We’ll also explore various parks around THPRD and take fi eld trips around our region.

Extended Hours and Tualatin Hills Nature Park Drop Off:
This is a great option for families with other children in Nature Explorers Camp or that work or live near the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Extended hours are offered at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park with early drop-off between 7:45 and 8:30 am and late pick-up between 4:45 and 5:15 pm. This includes transportation to and from the camp location. A $25 deposit option is available for this camp. See Camp Deposits and Balances box on page 37 for more information.
Herp HuntersGet up close and personal with reptiles and amphibians of all shapes and sizes during this exciting four-day camp. With two trips to local reptile hot-spots and the opportunity to meet face-to-face with some cool reptiles and amphibians, we’ll learn fi rsthand what makes our frogs, salamanders, turtles and snakes so important to the Pacifi c Northwest. Summer Camp Deposits and BalancesA $25 deposit is required for each participant, for weeks 2 through 11, at the time of registration. Full balances are due for week 1 at the time of registration. Deposit is non-refundable. However, it may be transferred to other THPRD programs prior to June 2. Please note: After June 2, deposits will no longer be transferable. A camp balance will be refundable or transferable only if requested at least two weeks prior to the start of the week you are requesting to drop. All camp balances will be due by 5 pm on the Monday two weeks prior to the start date of each camp week. Your space in camp will be forfeited automatically if the balance is not paid by the two-week deadline. No camp 7/4.

Adaptive Sports CampOur 3-day inclusive camp provides recreational and competitive sport opportunities for youth with physical disabilities, siblings and friends. Through a partnership with Oregon Disability Sports, THPRD will provide young athletes in wheelchairs the opportunity to develop sports skills, work as a team and try new adapted sports and equipment. Youth who use all types of mobility devices are welcome to attend.

Aqua Camp (Ages 7-12 yrs)Bring a sack lunch, swimsuit and towel each day. Comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (no “slip on’s," no open toe) for playing outside are a must. Camp Rivendale is a summer day camp program providing recreational opportunities for children and young adults who have physical and/or developmental disabilities.Campers 6-21 years of age are encouraged to explore areas of music, dance, drama, visual arts, sports and aquatics. Through this process, our goal is to contribute to the physical, mental and social growth of each camper. Staff and volunteers foster peer relations, which allow campers to share affection, support and companionship. We also strive to develop community support and encourage attitude changes to refl ect dignity, self-respect and independence for people who have disabilities. In addition to daily camp activities, campers will take weekly fi eld
trips and off-site excursions.Two adult weeks (for persons 22 and older) are added to the end of the summer session.

Registration: Fees for weeks #1 and #2 are due in full at the time of registration. The balance of the other weeks will be due by 4:30 pm on the Wednesday prior to the beginning of the attending week.

Wilderness Community (by approval of the director only) is part of Camp Rivendale. It is designed to meet the needs of campers who demonstrate maladaptive behavior as a primary condition of their disability. The group provides increased consistency, structure and support to enable campers to be successful in a day camp experience. PLEASE NOTE: Wilderness is only available weeks 1-6.
