STROLLERS-CHOOSING THE RIGHT ONE!
Spring is around the corner and the right stroller can improve your mobility!
According to Parenting Special Needs magazine “A good stroller can make all the difference in the
world when it comes to mobility with a child who has special needs.” For that matter, a good
stroller is wonderful for any parent. As with many items, the choice(s) can be daunting. Some of
the best advice can come from others who are in the same situation as you. Strollers can be
expensive so doing your homework is important. The decision does come down to personal choice
and there are questions to ask before you make the big purchase:
1. How old is the child? How many children do you have?
2. Where will you be using the stroller?
3. What features do you need?
4. Does it meet the need of your child and lifestyle?
5. What is your budget?

March is Healthy Eating Month. There are many ways to reach a healthy diet like
the DASH diet, Weight Watchers, Paleo, Adkins, South Beach, Carb back-loading,
Intermittent fasting and the list goes on and on. When it comes down to it each of those diets or
eating styles encourages an increase in fruits and veggies, a decrease in processed sugars/carbs, and developing a better relationship with your food. Using
www.choosemyplate.gov is a great resource to help improve food choices and eat proper
portions.
If you need help with your diet, contact John Durham at 757-445-1288 or durhamjm@usmc-
mccs.org to schedule a free appointment.
