God.In conjunction with the LCMS National Youth Gathering, campers will dig deaper into Psalm 46.Using the daily themes of Real, Present, God, Personal, and Eternal, campers will explore God’s story through the lens of Psalm 46 and what it means for God’s story to be intertwined with our own.

The mission of Camp Wartburg is to provide Christ-centered outdoor ministry where people can encounter God and His creation.

Family Camp • All Ages • $70 eachAre you looking for a place to unplug with the entire family for a couple of days? Join us for two days of family fun! With activities like archery, canoeing, swimming, crafts and more, your family is guaranteed to have a blast.

Note: Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

First Flight • 1-4 Grade • $200Are you a first-time camper? This program is for you! Spend a few days at Camp to experience the fun and see what it is all about. You will receive extra attention so that your first camp experience is a positive one. Note: This program runs Sunday-Tuesday. Pick-up is noon on Tuesday.

Forts, Fantasy, and Fun • 1-4 Grade • $300Join us for this popular week of wonder, excitement and creativity! Dress up like a knight, a princess or a super hero. Build a fort or “castle,” or decorate a “pirate ship” and set sail! There are no limits to where your imagination could lead you!

Wacky Water Week • 1-4 • 3-6 Grade • $365WATER! Fun activities of every shape and size will take place all over Camp Wartburg. Make a splash in the pool, explore the creek, stay cool playing water games and visit a nearby water park. This is a great program for campers wanting to stay cool and make a “splash” this summer.

Day Camp • K-8$35 daily • $140 weeklyUnsure if your child is ready for overnight camp? Consider joining us for a day, week, or multiple weeks of Day Camp. Children will enjoy activities such as archery, Bible study, canoeing, crafts, creek walking, disc golf, field games, fishing, gaga ball, hiking, pond study, swimming and more. Enjoy the adventure of being outdoors!

Day Camp begins on Thursday, May 17, 2018 and runs through Friday, August 10, 2018. We offer care beginning at 7:00am and pick-up runs until 5:30pm. Pending school start dates, Day Camp may be extended a week or two.

Art Explosion • 4-6 Grade • $315Bring out your wild creativity as you make works of art and then destroy them! Play outside the traditional artist’s “box” and create masterpieces using mud, recycled objects and more! Compete to build the best LEGO© creation, launch the highest water rocket in your group or just build for fun and see where your creativity and a few basic art materials take you!

Small Chefs • 4-6 Grade • $350Campers spend the week learning the basics of cooking in a camp setting, from basic fire building and safe food handling, to spices and baking. At the end of the week, the campers become “contestants” in their very own cook-off! Whether there’s a burning passion for cooking, or they wish to pick up a few new tricks and have fun while doing it, Small Chefs will “cater!”

Spy Camp • 4-6 Grade • $315You are a spy, with a mission! The details are top secret, but to complete it you need a code name and a disguise. Crack codes, show skills in tracking, question suspects, ride our zip line and enjoy other Camp activities while working undercover to complete your assignment. Will you succeed with your mission before time runs out?

WOW Epic • 4-6 Grade • $410Looking for some epic fun? Sign up for our newest WOW camp! Fourth through sixth graders enjoy the climbing wall and zip line and compete on Camp’s disc golf course. If you are still not convinced, we’ve also added Laser Tag and Archery Tag!

Our cabins are air-conditioned and used by all camp groups, except for participants in specific outdoor programs. Campers in trip camp programs stay in tents. Campers in Fishing, Survival, and some Explorers programs stay in our treehouses.

Explorers • 4-6 Grade • $300• 6-9 Grade • $310Adventure is out there! Campers stay on-site, with something new to discover each day. Adventures include cooking over a campfire, playing games, swimming, hiking, canoeing, creek walking and so much more.

Fishing (Treehouse) • 4-6 Grade • $295 • 6-9 Grade • $305Do you have any good fishing stories to tell? Come to Camp Wartburg and create some new ones. Bring along your own fishing gear and learn how to bait and cast and how to use lures. Campers will fish at Camp Wartburg and other ponds in the area, tour a bait shop and sleep in our rustic treehouses.

Horse Play • 4-6 Grade • $555 • 6-9 Grade • $565Spend your mornings with horses and improve your riding skills. Visit a nearby riding center where you will learn how to care for your horse, learn new techniques, play games and go on a trail ride. Afternoons are spent at Camp participating in other fun activities.

Survival (Treehouse) • 4-6 Grade • $270 • 6-9 Grade • $280Learn survival skills and put them to the test. Find out what’s edible in our neck of the woods. Canoe on the Kaskaskia River. Cook many of your own meals over an open fire and stay in our rustic treehouses. Learning outdoor skills is an important focus of this experience.

WOW • 4-6 Grade • 6-9 Grade • $410Experience all of the “Wonders of Wartburg” crammed into one fun filled week! Horseback riding, canoeing on the Kaskaskia River and more! Fourth through sixth graders take on the zip line and climbing tower, and sixth through ninth graders experience the full high ropes course. Leave Camp saying “WOW!”

Canoe Quest • 7-12 Grade • $360Adventure awaits! Travel to the Current River in Missouri and spend your days canoeing, exploring, cooking outdoors, sleeping in tents and building friendships with others your age. Relax in the natural wonders of the outdoors and experience a week away from the noise and bustle of modern life.

Cave Quest • 7-12 Grade • $360Take a journey underground! Travel to Meramec State Park and enjoy a week of cave exploration. If you are not afraid of the dark and like to get muddy, here is your chance to learn about caves and earn exciting stories to tell. Bring a hard hat (bike helmets are fine), grubby clothes, sturdy footwear, a flashlight and batteries!

Hands Reaching • 8+ Grade • $400Live out your faith and make a difference in the lives of others! Using Camp Restore as a home base, volunteer at several organizations in Louisiana, assisting people in need while serving alongside Christian leaders who take the call of serving the poor seriously. YOU can make a difference. Spaces are limited so the deadline to sign up is May 1!

Night Owl • 6-9 Grade • $385Are you a creature of the night? Sleep in the day and stay up all evening! Live your week as a nocturnal animal by the light of the moon! Visit an outdoor play at The Muny and take a night ride on our zip line. Experience what happens at Camp when everyone else is asleep. Don’t forget your flashlight!

Paintball • 6-9 Grade • $435Are you new to the game or a qualified commando? Join us for a week of fun: four trips to Wacky Warriors in Millstadt and one “break” day for High Ropes. Experience the fun of Camp, learning teamwork on and off the field. Campers receive a Wacky Warriors t-shirt!

Rocks, Ropes, Rappelling • 6-9 Grade • $400Challenge yourself in this adventure program that will take you to new heights. Build skills and confidence on the High Ropes course and the YMCA rock wall, then spend a day rappelling and rock climbing at Giant City! Accept the challenge and join us on higher ground!

Theater Arts • 6-9 Grade • $365Be a star! Learn about acting, improv, set design and costumes. Take a trip to a local theater for a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into putting on a show, followed by an outdoor performance at The Muny. Then write a play of your own and perform for family and friends at the Friday Festival!

WOW X-treme • 6-9 Grade • $435Loved coming to WOW Camp, but want a new experience? We’ve taken WOW and added a few twists. We’ve traded horses for mountain bikes! We put the canoes back on the racks for a different type of adventure – high ropes, go-karts and paintball! Join us for some X-treme FUN!

Account balances and paperwork are due two weeks prior to the camp session.

Roommate RequestsTo ensure you get into the same cabin group as your buddy, please place their name in the designated space online or on the registration form.

Confirmation of RegistrationYou will receive an email to confirm your registration. A “What-to-Bring” list will be attached. You will be required to fill out a health form for each camper (this form must be updated annually), as well as any additional waivers. Necessary forms can be found in your account online.

CancellationsRegistration deposits for cancellations made less than 30 days in advance of a camper’s arrival will not be refunded.

NOTE: Camp Wartburg reserves the right to cancel any program at its own discretion due to low registrations or unforeseen complications.

ARRIVALWhen you arrive, our staff will be on hand to welcome you. Please be prepared to update your child’s health history, if necessary. Please bring any medications in with you to check-in.

Weekly check-in begins Sunday at 2:00pm and runs until 4:00pm.

Hands Reaching check-in begins at 8:00am and runs until 9:00am on the Sunday of the camp session.

Temperature ChecksIn order to continue to provide your children with the safest environment possible, the temperature of every camper will be taken upon arrival. Thank you for helping us make Camp Wartburg a safe and healthy place.

DEPARTUREWe are always sad to see our campers leave, so we make sure to have a fun-filled send-off with our Friday Night Festival. Parents and guests are welcome to join us for dinner (5:00pm) and are welcome to stay and enjoy a brief program, where campers show off what they have learned throughout the week.

Meal tickets may be purchased at the door for $6, or 2 for $10.

NOTE: Abbreviated camp programs have a Festival at noon on their day of departure.

Non-Parent/Guardian Pick-UpIf a child is to leave with someone other than their guardian, a signed verification slip will be requested.

MID-WEEK VISITORSFor the safety of our campers, visitors are not permitted during camp sessions.

Service Opportunities:Junior Counselors// Sophomore Year +// $100Are you entering your Sophomore year of high school in the Fall of 2018? Do you have a heart for service and want to spend a couple of weeks serving the Lord and the children who attend Camp? Consider applying to be a Junior Counselor. You will help our college-age staff lead small groups, practice your Christian leadership skills, and grow your faith in the process. Applications are online. Those accepted into the program must attend a Saturday training session in the Spring. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2018.

Shepherding Sheep Volunteers// 8 Grade +Camp Wartburg begins each summer with special summer programs for persons with physical or developmental disabilities. Volunteers assist our staff in providing care for campers and making their time at Camp unforgettable.

Shepherding Sheep// K-AdultThe program is designed to get campers with disabilities outdoors and in an environment of interaction with other individuals. Camp Wartburg’s camper to counselor ratio is one-to-one or one-to-two staff/volunteers per camper. Camp Wartburg is a wonderful experience that enables the campers to be themselves, enjoy the outdoors, and participate in fun activities. There is focused attention on the camper, which makes them feel special for the time they are at Camp. Session I is Sun-Wed and Session II is Wed-Sat of Memorial Day week, annually.
