These few extra days will provide schools more time to verify studentsfinal grades and other information in the new student information system before they are posted. Cambridge students will receive report cards on Friday, during advisement. Please know that the information you see in Campus Student might not reflect your final grade(s), so we ask for your patience until the end of the week. To access final grades in Infinite Campus, log in to Infinite Campus, select Grades, and S1. 2020-2021 Course Registration Events Please note dates have changed. Grade-level Family Nights Mark your calendars for these upcoming pre- registration family nights. Counselors and administrators will be present to discuss: Registration timelines Placement guidelines Graduation requirements Balance in your personal, academic, and extracurricular life These meetings are family events, and we encourage students and parents/guardians to attend. Rising 10th Grade Family Night (9th-grade students) Thursday, February 6, 2020 – 6:00 pm Rising 11th Grade Family Night (10th-grade students) – Tuesday, February 18, 2020 – 6:00 pm Rising 12th Grade Family Night (11th-grade students) – Thursday, February 20, 2020 – 6:00 pm All sessions will be held in the Cambridge Theater. Dual Enrollment/Special Programs Night We will kick off the registration season with Dual Enrollment and Special Programs Night. Dual Enrollment Night is an informational session regarding the dual enrollment processes and registration instructions. Students interested in taking AP courses honors-level world language, visual arts, performing arts, or Career and Agriculture, Technical Education (CTAE) courses should plan to attend this session. Parents/guardians and students are encouraged to attend together and will have an opportunity to visit break-out sessions to hear teachers discuss their programs or courses. Dual Enrollment Night Monday, February 10, 2020, 5:45 pm – Cambridge Theater Special Programs Night Monday, February 10, 2020 6:30 pm – Classrooms Georgia Scholars Program Deadline Extended Seniors-Do you want to be recognized as a Georgia Scholar? If so, please see your counselor for the Georgia Scholars Program Application by this Friday, January 17, 2020. Through the Georgia Scholar Program, the Georgia Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma. Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home. Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during the four years of high school; who performed outstandingly in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools. The recognition is open to any student who qualifies. The deadline to see you your counselor to get the application is January 17, 2020, this Friday. The deadline to submit a completed application to your counselor is January 22, 2020, and the school's deadline to apply to the District Office is January 24, 2020. To access GSFAPPS, an applicant must go through www.gafutures.org and complete the GSFAPPS application. Mid Year Reports and Mid-year grades for Colleges Seniors, if your college requires mid-year reports and mid -year transcripts, please send the request through Common App and Coalition to your counselor. Transcripts are slated to be available starting January 14, 2020, and all requests for mid-year reports will be processed beginning that date. Understanding Your PSAT/NMSQT Score Report U.S. Military Academy at West Point Summer Leaders Experience The Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) 2020 application period will open on January 15, 2020, and will remain open until March 15, 2020. Session 1: May 30 - June 5, 2020 Session 2: June 6 - 12 , 2020 SLE is highly competitive; 6,000 applicants compete for just 1,000 slots annually. SLE gives high school juniors a one-week immersive experience as a cadet to inform their college selection decision. SLE is a fast-paced program consisting of academic classes, military training, physical fitness training, and intramural athletics. SLE sessions are held during the first two weeks of June each year. You must have standardized test scores to be considered for SLE. Bring the entire family and immerse yourself in the world of Historically Black Colleges and Universities! Admissions reps from over 40 different HBCUs will be onsite to meet you with information on their school's programs, the application process, and to answer questions you may have.
