How To, Step 1: Twitter
Why?
Twitter is huge! Microblogs provide to-the-second information, which is widely distributed among millions of users. You control whose updates you see, it’s quick and simple to use, and it’s a great way to find and share links to online content.
1. Register for a Twitter account.1. Use your real name, or as close to it as you can get.
2. Write a bio that explains your role at Calypso, and personal interests.
3. Use search.twitter.com (often!) to search hashtag topics, and follow people with similar interests, including cancer treatment.
4. Use a real picture of yourself. Social media is about connecting with real people.
5. Share links from your RSS feed. Use a link shortener like Ow.ly.
6. ReTweet, ReTweet, ReTweet! Use the proper protocol, and don’t forget your pleases and thank yous.

Why?
Having more bookmarks increases traffic and ultimately leads to more market authority. For
example, Digg receives more than 30 million unique visitors and 327 million page views per
month. Stories that receive more Diggs are more likely to hit the front page of Digg. This can
increase traffic to the linked site by over 120 times!
1. Register for a Digg account.
1. Begin to “Digg” (or bookmark) articles that relate to your interests and professional field. Be sure to
use tags!
2. Become friends with (add to your network) people who bookmark links with similar content to
yours.
3. Bookmark lots of things: interesting news, articles about health and wellness, personal
interests. And be sure to “Digg” pages that others have recommended.

Why?
Delicious is a social bookmarking service that allows you to tag, save, manage and share web
pages all in one place. It greatly improves how people discover, remember, and share on the
internet. Links are grouped and found based on tags, which grant the ability for all your links to
be categorized based on public topics!
