We meet once a month in the Calvert High School Cafeteria from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm with Dr. Curry speaking from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Our General AssembliesOur General Assemblies

These meetings take place 3 times during the school year. This is a chance for delegates to teach and/or learn from leadership workshops and interact with their peers from all around the county. At our February GA, we elect our Student Member of the Board of Education and at the April GA, we elect the next CASC Officer Team. Our February GA this year is February 14th at Calvert High School and our April GA is April 19th at Huntingtown High School.

CASC in the CommunityCASC in the Community

CASC has been hard at work in the community. Once again this year, we participated in the Calvert County Fair Youth Day activities and Annmarie Gardens "Halloween in the Gardens" event. Also, we had student members at the League of Women Voters annual Legislative Evening. We will also take part in the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) end-of-year service project for FINISH Sarcoma.

CASC will be going to Annapolis on March 6th as part of MASC's annual "Advocacy Week". We will be speaking to Delegates Fisher, Clark, and Jackson as well as Senator Waugh and Senate President Miller about bills they are working on, their roles in the Assembly as well as advocate on bills going through the Senate Health, Education and Environmental Affairs committee and advocating for full SMOB voting rights. We're really lucky that our Department of Internal Affairs Director, Tony Proulx, will be paging the day we're up there and our parliamentarian, Jillian Gray, will be interning for Delegate Fisher!

CASC has established a working partnership with the League of Women Voters of Calvert County. Our partnership with the League has led to multiple CASC Executive Board Members to not only be registered to vote, but be registered to register people to vote! At our November General Assembly, we were able to register about a dozen high school students to vote. CASC would like to thank Mr. John Perryman and Ms. Margaret Dunkle for all their support of all of our endeavors!

CASC has established a working partnership with the League of Women Voters of Calvert County. This year was the first Southern Leadership Conference (SLC) held at the College of Southern Maryland Prince Frederick!

CASC is a member of the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC). Being a member of MASC gives CASC delegates amazing opportunities to attend conferences such as Fall Leadership Conference, LEAD DC, Legislative Session and Convention.
