fgt i wom miit w But sancfy the Lord God in

    your hearts, and always be

ready to give a defense to eve-

ryone who asks you a reason for

the hope that is in you, with

    meekness and fear 1 Peter

    3:15

The heading in my Bible over 1

    Peter 3:13-15 reads, Godly

living before the world for right-

    eousness sake. The context is

    that when people come against

us for doings good, when they

mock our faith and when we

suer at their hands, we need

    not fear. Why? Because we

have set apart the Lord Jesus in

our hearts giving rst place to

Him. We have turned everythingover to Him. He is Lord of our

life and He is ruling over the

    control center of our being.

When Jesus is the center of our

life we are able to respond to

    the scoers and unbelievers in

condence and are able to give

an answer to anyone who asks

for the hope that lies within us.

The key is to have Jesus Christ

    sanced in your heart.

    What is that hope, Colossians

    1:27 says T o them God willed

to make known what are the

riches of the glory of this mys-

    tery among the Genles: which

is Christ in you, the hope of

glory. Our hope as Chrisans is

the resurrecon of the dead and

    eternal life in Gods glory.

When we rst moved here I

took a part me job with

    Washoe County school District. I

was thankful to have a job, the

church was very small then and

    there wasnt much money. The

    only negave thing about my

job was my co-worker. She was

    very new-age and I suspected

she was into Wicca. She threw

    salt everywhere, she burned

white sage, and she wore crys-

tals and spoke of her Spirit

guide oen. One me I found

    her on the playground spinning

in circles. She explained to me

that she was spinning o evil.

    She mocked my Chrisanity and

    even looked for inconsistencies

in my life so she could point

them out to me. I felt like I was

in a war. I came home from my

    three hour job exhausted every

    day. Something had to change

and it wasnt going to be me.

    I was a Chrisan, I knew the

word of God and I was ready to

let her have it. Every me she

    said something quesonable

(like today my aura was black)

    or did something weird (like

throwing salt on me) I coun-

tered with a scripture. At rst it

didnt go so well. She became

    antagonisc and oen provoked

as I beat her with my sword.

Things were going from bad to

worse; I had to change my tac-

cs. I went back to the manual; I

went back and read my bible.

    I read 1Peter 3:15 again. First

of all I needed to sancfy Jesus

in my heart. How do we do this?

We turn everything over to Him

in prayer, and live only to please

Him and glorify Him. It means

    we fear displeasing Him more

than we fear what men may do

to us or what they might say

about us. One of the evidencesof a sanced heart is the readi-

ness in which we tell others

about Him. The light bulb went

    o. I needed to share the love

of Jesus with her. I needed to

tell her what he had done for

me and that by accepng Him

she could have eternal life. And

one more thing, I needed to do

it meekly and in a humble and

    modest way.

You know what happened,we actually became friends and

she listened when I shared the

things of God with her. She

would even bring in books for

me to see if they were okay to

read. I really dont know if she

ever became a Chrisan or not.

She never prayed with me but I

know seeds were planted and I

hope to see her again one day in

    Heaven.

A Quote I came across says it

    best. Every Chrisan should be

    capable of defending the Gos-

pel. In order to do so, set apart

Christ as Lord in your heart, and

in order to do so eecvely

    answer with gentleness and

    respect. anon

    Thank YouRay Boltz

I dreamed I went to heavenAnd you were there with me;We walked upon the streets of goldBeside the crystal sea.We heard the angels singingThen someone called your name.We turned and saw a young man run-ningAnd he was smiling as he came.

And he said, "Friend you may not knowme now."And then he said, "But wait,You used to teach my Sunday SchoolWhen I was only eight. And every week you would say a prayerBefore the class would start. And one day when you said that prayer,I asked Jesus in my heart."

Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am a life that was changed.Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am so glad you gave. Then another man stood before youAnd said, "Remember the timeA missionary came to your churchAnd his pictures made you cry.You didn't have much money,But you gave it anyway.

Jesus took the gift you gaveAnd that's why I'm here today."

Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am a life that was changed.Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am so glad you gave. One by one they cameFar as the eye could see. Each life somehow touchedBy your generosity.Little things that you had done,

Sacrifices made,Unnoticed on the earthIn heaven, now proclaimed.

And I know up in heavenYou're not supposed to cryBut I am almost sureThere were tears in your eyes.As Jesus took your handAnd you stood before the Lord.He said, "My child, look around you.Great is your reward."

Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am a life that was changed.Thank you for giving to the Lord.I am so glad you gave.Thank you for giving to the Lord.

I am a life that was changed.

Thank you for giving to the Lord.

DevotionalBut sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with

Women Reaching Women Through TESTIMONY and LIFESTYLE

Are you READY? Have you thought about who you would like to tell about Jesus Christ this year? Have you thoughtabout answering the question, What is the reason for the HOPE that I have? Have you wondered what a Christian Dis-ciple is and how to disciple someone else? Here are some thoughts to think about:

As a Disciple:1. You will be saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ wanting to glorify God with your life. Isaiah

43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have madehim.

    2. You will follow Jesus Christ by studying your Bible, learning scripture and applying it to your life through a life ofobedience. 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to beashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    3. You will share your faith with others and pass on what you have learned in your study of Gods Word; both by yourwords and also by the way you live your life. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always beready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

    4. You will be a person of prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing,5. You will be persecuted. John 15:20 Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master.

If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

IDEAS FOR SHARING YOUR FAITH (One person at a Time.)

Go and make disciple of others 1 Cor 9:16; Matt 28:18-20Discipling someone isnt just teaching; its also being a friend!

Expressions of LoveLove each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10 (NLT)

    lluv2Greet4Jesusby Mary Jane Robinette

It was a beautiful hot summer afternoon on August 23,2008 when I was baptized in Lake Tahoe. What tremen-dous joy for me to publicly profess my faith in the deathand resurrection of Jesus Christ. It wasnt long before itbecame discernible to me that the Lord wanted to use meto spread His message to others. I had already receivedGods call to be a Greeter at church. It was soon thereaf-ter I was blest with the fruit of the Spirit with a gift forwriting Gods gospel messages. I had always dreamed ofwriting. It wasnt until the Holy Spirit revealed Hiswords into my heart that my dream became a sweetsmelling fragrance to my fingers. My words became myprayerful aromas of Gods truths to be shared. It blessesme to write of my love for Jesus in the Fragrant LifeWomens Newsletters. Whenever I comment on our Cal-vary Chapel Joyful Book Blog on the internet a thrill ofthe presence of the Holy Spirit fills my heart knowing mywords seek to harvest souls aroundthe world. Our God uses us in wayswe least expect. We are to be obedi-

ent disciples of Jesus Christ ready toshare our faith with others. My prayeris that I will always have the joy ofgreeting for Jesus and this treasure ofwords to write. Yet I know that whenGod closes one door He always opensanother. It is a test of our faith to al-ways be ready to surrender to GodsWill.

It takes courage and boldness to witness about JesusChrist. Some of us say but I dont have a testimony. As my

daughter reminded me when I said those words, we allhave a testimony. For some of us it is without incident,

just a quiet personal conversation with Jesus Christ. While for others their story is more powerful to unveil. For me I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior quiet-ly in my heart in prayer. I had realized that my parentshad chosen a religion for me; but I didnt want or need areligion. I wanted to have Jesus Christ come into my heartand be the Lord of my life. From that moment on He hasguided my journey. When we surrender our life to Jesus

Christ we are to be obedient to share with others the joy,

the love, the overwhelming essence of having a spiritualunion with the Son of God. Some people may not want tolisten. Some people may say harsh words to you. Weshould never be afraid to speak the gospel of Jesus Christ. When we exalt the name of Jesus in conversation to oth-ers, we are sanctifying His name. As a believer our testi-mony is what the Lord does in our life everyday. We needto always be in readiness with just simple statements oftruth of the gospel to share with others. We need voicesready to speak out to glorify the name of Jesus Christ andwhat His death on the cross did for us and will do forthem. Our hearts are our sanctuaries, the place where we

commune with Jesus Christ in worship and prayer. Ourminds and bodies should exemplify the humbleness andobedience of Jesus Christ. We were bought at a price, weare possessions of our Lord and Savior. We are to walk inHis ways and shine His light forward to all those we greetin our life. 1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you areason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. Our fearis in not pleasing God. With humble hearts we are to bedisciples of Jesus Christ.

We all have hard times, espe-

cially these days with the economythe way it is. Major setbacks inpeoples lives are happening allaround us. As Christians we are touse these circumstances to shinethe light of Jesus to others. Do nothave an introverted heart. Do notbe afraid to share your story withanyone who is willing to listen. Donot allow the enemy to grow fearof doubt to speak your testimony.

Always be persistent and bold to speak about Jesus

Christ and what He did for you, even to those that seemto stubborn to be still to listen. I pray for all of us to havethe courage and the wisdom to speak out and to greetothers by sharing what having Jesus in our life has donefor us. Iluv2greet4Jesus on Sundays in church, at the gro-cery store, shopping at the mall. When you feel the Lordtug on your heart in the presence of other people to sharethe gospel message, speak in love. Let your words shineHis light on to someone that assuredly the Lord placed inyour path.
