FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN INDIA:Issues and Challenges

Foreign investment is a strategic instrument of development policy. It plays an important role
in the long-term economic development of a country by augmenting availability of capital,
enhancing competitiveness of the domestic economy through transfer of technology, strengthening
infrastructure, raising productivity, generating new employment opportunities, and boosting exports.
In the wake of the economic liberalization policy in 1991, the GOI has taken several measures to
encourage foreign investment in almost all sectors of the economy. However, the emphasis has been
on foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in the development of infrastructure, technological
upgrade of industry, and the setting up of special economic zones. With a vast reservoir of skilled
and cost-effective manpower, India is now recognized as one of the most attractive investment
destinations by reputed international rating organizations.
In this backdrop, the Principal, Govt. Degree College, zaheerabad, Manjeera Publishing
Houseplans to bring out a special Edited book titled Foreign D ir ect Investment I n I ndia: I ssues
and Chall enges. with ISBN No.978-81-930334-0-1

All submissions must be made in word format, preferably in 12 font sizes, Times New
Roman (with 14 pt. size for Titles) in A4 size format with 1.5 line spacing. Paper submissions should
be accompanied by a certificate by author(s) that paper is his/her original work and has neither been
published not submitted for publication elsewhere.

One printed copy of the book will be issued on the cost of Rs. 550/-only (including postal
Charges).There is no publication and processing fee. Every paper submitted will be assessed and
