INNOVATIVE DESIGN in ENGINEERING and ARCHITECTURE with STRUCTURAL STEEL

EligibilityArchitects, engineers, designers, constructors, fabricators and owners may enter building projects that meet the following criteria:

� A significant portion of the framing system of the project must be wide-flange or hollow structural steel sections. New buildings and renovations are eligible.

� Projects must have been completed in the U.S. between Jan. 1, 2013 and Dec. 31, 2015.

� Entries must include identification of the entire project team related to the use of structural steel on the project (including owner); project size and cost information; a 500- to 1,000-word project description, including elements such as architectural accomplishment, structural engineering achievement, innovative project teamwork and productivity enhancement; and high-resolution photography and drawings released to AISC for use.

Awards and Recognition

How to Enter

National and Merit awards and the Presidential Award of Excellence for structural engineering are bestowed at the judges’ discretion. Projects selected for recognition will be announced at the 2016 NASCC: The Steel Conference in Orlando in April. Awards are presented by AISC to the submitting firms and their fellow project team members at the individual project sites during the summer. Winning projects will be featured in Modern Steel Construction magazine.

The IDEAS2 entry process is conducted online. Enter projects at the contest website: www.aisc.org/ideas2A panel of industry experts will convene in mid-January to evaluate the entries.
